The Treasurer’s Debate: Jim Chalmers v Angus Taylor on Sky News Australia – Sky News will host the first live debate between Treasurer Jim Chalmers and Shadow Treasurer Angus Taylor on Wednesday 9 April at 7:30pm AEST.
Moderated by Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood, The Treasurers’ Debate will allow both parties to deliberate on a range of critical issues impacting Australia’s economic future.
It comes less than a month before Australians go to the polls and only weeks after Treasurer Jim Chalmers handed down his fourth budget which forecast a decade of deficits.
Ross Greenwood said:
“The Federal Election is a contest about who can best manage Australia’s $2.3 trillion economy. From the cost-of-living and energy prices, from migration to home affordability, from personal taxes to employment, the Treasurers of our major political parties must not only have the right strategies, but they must also be able to effectively communicate those policies to households and business.
“This debate is your best chance to assess those policies and the skills of Jim Chalmers and Angus Taylor.”
Sky News is bringing Australian audiences the first two debates of the campaign over two not-to-be-missed nights.
The Treasurers’ Debate will follow the Sky News/The Daily Telegraph People’s Forum, the first and most important leaders’ debate of the campaign that will see Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Opposition Leader Peter Dutton go head-to-head in front of 100 undecided voters on Tuesday 8 April at 7:30pm AEST.
Both debates will be available to watch on Sky News and the Sky News Election Channel on Foxtel,free-to-air channel Sky News Regional, FAST channel Sky News Now, SkyNews.com.au, the Sky News Australia app, and as an audio stream on Sky News Radio available on DAB+ digital radio in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
