AWG | Home and Away screenwriters paid superannuation – The Australian Writers’ Guild has worked collaboratively with the Seven Network to come to an agreement about superannuation for screenwriters engaged by Seven on Home and Away.
The decision means that writers will receive superannuation contributions on their contracted script and story conference fees.
As a result of this agreement, writers will receive notification, and contribution payments inclusive of interest at the statutory rate, from the Australian Taxation Office covering the period commencing 1 July 2021. We will provide an update with more detail as soon as we are aware of the timing.
Members with questions can contact the Guild for advice and support as payments are made. The Guild will run an information session early next year for all interested and affected writers.
