ACMA responds to TV prominence consultation – The TV prominence scheme aims to make it easier for Australians to find and access free-to-air TV services and apps on smart TVs and similar devices. It will apply to devices manufactured and supplied from 10 January 2026, and will be administered by the ACMA.
We have today published an outcomes report in response to our recent TV prominence consultation. This report summarises stakeholder submissions and updates our views on a range of matters, including how we use our discretionary powers.
It follows the registration of the minimum prominence requirements established by government in the Broadcasting Services (Minimum Prominence Requirements) Regulations 2024.
We thank all those involved in the consultation process.
