2025 Casting Guild of Australia Award winners announced – The Casting Guild of Australia celebrated its 11th annual CGA Awards on Friday evening at a ceremony at the Arts Centre, Melbourne, hosted by Ed Kavalee and Dilruk Jayasinha, with special guest Tony Ayres.

The award for ‘Best Casting in a Feature Film’ went to Anousha Zarkesh for her work on The Correspondent. Zarkesh also took home the award for ‘Best Casting in a TV Drama’ for Mystery Road: Origin Season 2.
Picking up the award for ‘Best Casting in a TV Comedy’ was Kirsty McGregor and Will Pearce for Fisk Season 3. This is Pearce’s first win at the CGA Awards, after being named on the 2024 IF Rising Talent list.
Kirsty McGregor also won the award for ‘Best Casting in a Telemovie/Miniseries’ for her achievement on Apple Cider Vinegar.
The award for ‘Best Casting in a Short Film’ went to NT casting director, Sarah Price, for her work on Bear. This is Price’s 2nd CGA Awards trophy, after winning the award for TVC in 2024.
Natalie Jane Harvie won the award for ‘Best Casting in a TVC – Actor’ for DiDi ‘Yes I DiDi’.
First-time winners and owners of Melbourne Casting Consultancy, Northside Casting, Ally Reynolds and Ellie Honigman, took home the award for ‘Best Casting in a TVC – Community’ for Qantas ‘Already Proud’.
The award for ‘Best Casting in a Theatre Production’ went to Lisa Campbell for Beetlejuice: The Musical. This marks her 2nd time winning this award; she previously won for Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
The ‘Achievement in Casting Award’ went to first-time winner and head of Wayward Creative Daniel Berini for Robyn’s Story ‘Crack in the Ice’.
The CGA also officially crowned Australia’s top emerging talent of 2025, highlighting ten extraordinary actors with the potential to break out on the world stage.
The 2025 CGA Rising Stars are Clare Hughes (Ladies in Black, Ten Pound Poms), Ioane Sa’ula (Bump, The Fall Guy), Joseph Zada (We Were Liars, Invisible Boys), Lily Latorre (Runt, The Clearing), Roxie Mohebbi (Critical Incident, Ladies in Black), Stacy Clausen (Crazy Fun Park, Scrublands), Tanzyn Crawford (Tiny Beautiful Things, Swift Street), Tharanya Tharan (Tharanya Tharan), Xavier Molyneux (Neighbours, Last Days of the Space Age) and Zoe Phillips (East of Eden).
The CGA Awards is the only casting awards ceremony in the southern hemisphere that celebrates and recognises casting across all mediums including film, television, advertising, theatre and online content. The annual Awards Ceremony seeks to acknowledge and support the critical role casting directors play in bringing together great casting opportunities both on a national and international stage.
