NFL on ESPN as pre season begins

NFL on ESPN – The NFL returns to ESPN this Friday when the traditional Hall of Fame game begins the 104th NFL season with the most talked about franchise this off-season, the New York Jets colliding with the Cleveland Browns.

New York Jets made the biggest off-season signing in star quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The former Green Bay QB, and four-time league MVP, is seen as the missing puzzle piece for the success starved Jets.

The new look New York Jets begin their new era as they face the Cleveland Browns, LIVE on ESPN Friday August 4 at 10am AEST.

Following a 7-10 season record last campaign, Rodgers is expected to make the Jets a playoff contender – as the high profile QB compliments a defense ranked as the fourth best in the NFL.

Rodgers is not expected to suit up on Friday, but fans will instead expect to see Zach Wilson, a no.2 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, steering the Jets around.

First-round draftee Will McDonald IV is seen as an edge runner with huge potential and is another who should find considerable minutes against the Browns.

Cleveland also went 7-10 in the 2022/23 NFL season and will again hope to feature in the AFC playoff race.

DeShaun Watson and Nick Chubb are the two players that will have Browns fans excited about the upcoming season. The Hall of Fame game will also present a first-look at Browns’ rookies Cedric Tillman, as well as fifth-round Quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

The Jets-Browns clash will be played at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, a stone’s throw away from the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

It will be the Browns sixth appearance in the Hall of Fame game, having last featured in 1999. New York have played twice previously, but not since the 1992 season.

ESPN will also bring coverage of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Induction on Sunday August 6 at 12.30pm AEST on ESPN2.

Ronde Barber, Don Coryell, Chuck Howley, Joe Klecko, Darrelle Revis, Ken Riley, Joe Thomas, Zach Thomas and DeMarcus Ware all get their names etched in history as they enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
