SCREEN FOREVER 38 teases with a progressive program – Screen Producers Australia (SPA) is thrilled to announce that registrations for the 38th annual SCREEN FOREVER, Australia’s premier screen industry event, are open from 9.00am AEDT today (Tuesday, 31 Oct 2023).

From 19-21 March 2024 international and domestic screen industry professionals will gather on Queensland’s glorious Gold Coast for SCREEN FOREVER 38, an annual opportunity to be inspired, connect, and do business thanks to a carefully curated program of thought-provoking sessions, unmissable networking events, and engaging business meetings, including the SPA Connect Market.

Following SCREEN FOREVER 38, the opportunities keep coming as an Online Global Market runs from 26-27 March 2024, where delegates will have countless chances to connect digitally with key buyers, commissioning executives, distributors, and sales agents from across the globe to promote their screen businesses, slates, and productions.

The SCREEN FOREVER 38 program will consist of five distinct program strands. Breaking Boundaries will explore heavy-hitting topics such as policy reform and the social effects of world events, Creative Difference will look at how cultural and technological shifts can have a positive impact on the screen sector and audiences.

Keeping it Real themed sessions will include a focus on unscripted and factual projects and how they resonate with audiences.

Making it Rain will explore how key funding, buying and streaming executives are commissioning and financing projects, and finally, All Screen Business Begins With a Story, these stories can come from many places, with sessions investigating how producers find these, access them, and bring them to life.

March 2024 will also see the return of not-to-be-missed social networking events, including the electric Audio Network Opening Night Drinks, the fast-paced Screenrights Speed Networking Breakfast, the sizzling Gold Coast Film Commission Sunset Cocktail Hour, and the eagerly awaited closing night Gala Party.

The event will also see the 22nd Annual SPA Awards celebrating excellence in the Australian screen production industry, held on the final night of SCREEN FOREVER 38, Thursday, 21 March.

“We can’t wait to welcome delegates to SCREEN FOREVER 38 to Queensland’s culturally rich and visually stunning Gold Coast in March next year. Our objectives for the upcoming conference and market are many, but most of all we want delegates to build new connections, reinforce and grow existing networks, make new business contacts, and immerse themselves in a program bursting with thought-provoking sessions that will provide opportunities for growth and development,”

– said SPA CEO Matthew Deaner.

Quotes attributable to Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk:

“Queensland is the foremost screen hub of the Asia Pacific region, especially now with the Gold Coast hosting the next three SCREEN FOREVER events.

“The Queensland Government is proud to have been a long-time champion of the production of Australian stories, especially by supporting events such as SCREEN FOREVER 38 where local ideas are born and developed, creativity is showcased, deals are finalised, and jobs are created.

“Local production is crucial to Queensland’s vibrant screen industry with the Queensland Government, through Screen Queensland, supporting local career pathways and job training.

“Last financial year, the Queensland Government, through Screen Queensland, supported more than 60 productions and digital games to be made in the Sunshine State, which created more than 4000 jobs for Queenslanders as well as training opportunities for emerging screen practitioners.’’

SCREEN FOREVER is proudly supported by the Queensland Government, through Screen Queensland.

“Be inspired, connected, and do business. That’s what SCREEN FOREVER is all about, and our city is the best destination to achieve those outcomes,’’

– said Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate.

“Our city’s star is on the rise, and I look forward to the further evolution of the screen industry in the years ahead. See you all in March.’’

After a completely sold-out event in 2022 and 2023, delegates are encouraged to register early to secure their spot at www.screenforever.org.au.

More information on SCREEN FOREVER 38 can be found at www.screenforever.org.au. The full program will be announced in mid-February 2024.
