Premier League & LaLiga return to Optus Sport

As Argentina celebrates their World Cup triumph, the world’s best footballers are set to return to Optus Sport.

The eyes of the world will be back on the Premier League and LaLiga, where 58 per cent of the newest crop of World Cup winners play on a weekly basis – and we can’t wait to bring you all the action.

From 26 December the Premier League returns in all its glory, with Arsenal resuming their push for their first title in 19 years. They’ll almost certainly be pushed all the way by Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering Manchester City juggernaut in a race not to be missed.

Meanwhile, Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United look to be on the cusp of something special and we’ll find out how Manchester United will cope without Cristiano Ronaldo, while Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and Chelsea’s Graham Potter are under pressure to turn around seasons that have stalled. At the other end, the battle to avoid relegation is shaping to be a tight one.

Over in LaLiga, Barcelona and Real Madrid resume their duel starting 30 December, with storylines galore in a competition featuring no less than 10 World Cup winners.

Some fixtures to jot down in the diary include Atletico Madrid v Barcelona (9 January), Real Sociedad v Athletic Club (15 January), Athletic Club v Real Madrid (22 January) and Sevilla v Cadiz (22 January).

Elsewhere in the FA Women’s Super League, Sam Kerr’s Chelsea is leading a tight title race from Steph Catley and Caitlin Foord’s Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City, who boast Matildas trio Hayley Raso, Alanna Kennedy and Mary Fowler. Matches resume on Saturday 14 January, when Aston Villa take on Tottenham.
