Postcards on Channel 9 and 9Now (3 November) – Join the Postcards team this week as guest presenter Yvie Jones joins the show and the team revisit some of their favourite places this year, at 5.30pm Sunday on Channel 9 and 9Now.
Guest Presenter Yvie Jones brings in the Christmas Spirit for the exciting new run of A Christmas Carol at the Comedy Theatre (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). In South Melbourne she chats with Erik Thomson who is leading the musical as Ebenezer Scrooge. They grab a bite to eat at Deli Boy before visiting the rehearsal studio. Later, Yvie makes her way to Circl Wine House in the CBD, which is the perfect spot for a pre or post-theatre bite.
Kris Smith checks in for a “stay-cay” in the CBD at the Vibe Hotel Melbourne (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country). After giving viewers a tour of the hotel facilities and contemporary rooms, he heads across the road to hire a boat with GoBoat Melbourne for a unique cruising experience along the Yarra. He finishes his day back at the hotel with a nautical-themed cocktail at Flinders Street’s newest and tallest rooftop bar, Fleet.
Kevin and Janetta show viewers around their hometown of Maldon (Dja Dja Wurrung Country). Starting on Main Street, they head into Maldon Bakery for a pastry before shopping at Portia & Co and chatting to owner Rebecca Haack. They end their tour of Maldon at the quirky Blue Cockatoo Bar which is accessible through the fish and chip shop!
Shane Delia is in Flemington (Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country) for a look at the famous racecourse ahead of the Melbourne Cup. Back on Racecourse Road, Shane unearths some flavourful East African cuisine at New Somali Kitchen and sits down with chef, Abdo Sean, for a feast before wrapping up the afternoon with a pint of Guinness at Melbourne’s best Irish pub, The Quiet Man.
