Today Screen Producers Australia (SPA) is proud to announce the SPA members whose Pitch On Demand submissions have secured a pitch meeting with one or more of the commissioning executives from BINGE, Paramount+ or Stan, the three streamers participating in the third iteration of Pitch On Demand.
Designed as an accessible and streamlined approach to pitching, the fast-paced and simple online format has proven to be a hit since it launched in 2021. The initiative provides a unique opportunity for producers to attend a briefing and submit a relevant project for a chance to be selected to meet with executives to pitch their project – creating accelerated pathways to audiences.
Following briefs by BINGE Executive Director, Alison Hurbert-Burns, Paramount’s Senior Vice President, Content & Programming Daniel Monaghan representing Paramount+ and Head of Stan Originals Amanda Duthie, and Stan’s Senior Commissioning Editor Rachel Okine, Pitch On Demand delivered projects from a wealth of both new and established creative talent and producers.
A combined audience of over 1,100 screen industry professionals registered for the commissioner briefings. Post briefings, well-informed and eager SPA members had the opportunity to submit a tailored one-page pitch to the streamers in the hope their project would secure them a pitch meeting. SPA received 225 pitches from 117 members.
“Pitch On Demand continues to be embraced by SPA members and commissioning executives alike, and I would like to take the opportunity to particularly thank the executives who have taken part so far in this latest iteration,” said SPA CEO Matthew Deaner.
“The ongoing success of the initiative is a testament to the diverse, bold, and unique creative talent housed within the SPA membership. Pitch On Demand continues to foster and helps cultivate new opportunities and pathways for Australian producers to ensure Australian stories are seen on screens locally and internationally,” said Mr Deaner.
Of the 225 pitches submitted, 13 SPA members entered 14 submissions and have secured a coveted pitch meeting with the participating streamers. Each of the shortlisted applicants have been offered a practice pitch session with SPA prior to their meeting with the streamers, providing invaluable feedback.
