It’s the morning of Commitment Ceremony five and two names are top of mind for everybody: Jamie and Carina.
The group are surprised at the pair’s explosive row at the Dinner Party, especially because the couple at the centre of all the drama – Lauren and Clint – did not even show up to face the music.

Jamie is still salty at Carina, declaring their friendship over, but she does admit she’s not exactly proud of her behaviour.
“I feel like Ryan now has to give the title of ‘classless’ to my mouth because it was brutal,” she jokes.
Carina has less of a sense of humour about it all and is nervous about facing Jamie again.
MAFS EP 24 RECAP: One couple make a shock decision ahead of the Dinner Party before a showdown erupts between brides
There is no doubt each of them will be there tonight, but whether Lauren and Clint will show off is the question on everyone’s lips.
Jamie is really hoping they do, only to see the experts “let Lauren have it”.
As everyone arrives, it doesn’t appear like they have turned up… until another late, dramatic entrance.
The group immediately begin to grill them, prompting Lauren to tell Clint they should’ve brought some “zoo feeding pallets to keep them quiet”. Yikes.
John Aiken breaks up the party with a welcome, but not for long. It’s time.
Lauren and Clint
The couples make many a sarcastic quip as Clint explains that they skipped the group Dinner Party because the group doesn’t share the same “standards and values” as them.
“We just find it an absolute embarrassment,” he says.
Lauren tells the experts about feeling attacked in a group setting, “especially when that lady keeps flapping her mouth constantly”.
That lady??? Flapping her mouth???

Lauren is called out for talking down to the group
Lauren insults the group’s “psycho behaviour” and once again calls them “boganic”.
After clarifying the meaning of boganic, John says she acts like she’s above the group.
That’s because… she thinks she is: “I do feel like my behaviour is better,” she says.
However, Lauren also thinks her cold, hard exterior makes people think she’s a ‘b—h’ when she’s really not, which Mel thinks is a cop out.
“I think you’re giving yourself a bit too much credit here, personality-wise,” she tells Lauren. Ouch.
Mel explains that in fact, people may think she’s rude because she is being rude.
Alessandra wants to know where their relationship is at, and Clint talks in circles about not being sure if he wants things to progress, even though he definitely does despite Lauren not feeling the same.Play Video
Lauren and Clint reveal whether they can go beyond a friendship
To the surprise of no one, they have both chosen to ‘leave’. In fact, Lauren’s written “leave-ing the zoo”.
Charming.
As for what’s next for them, Lauren might visit Tassie. Key word, might.
The pair walk out of the room without so much as a goodbye.
Awhina and Adrian
It’s a far cry from last week’s couch session for these two, who are in a great place right now.
Awhina is feeling more validated by Adrian and their sexual spark is still very much sparking.Play Video
Awhina and Adrian are beaming as their relationship strengthens
It’s the easiest ‘stay’ they’ve each shared so far.
Ryan and Jacqui
“How are you two?” John asks, which is truly opening a can of worms with this pairing.
They’re actually doing great, because Ryan has started complimenting Jacqui’s intellect.
In fact, he thinks she might even be more intellectual than him!
But of course, it’s not a Jacqui and Ryan couch sesh without some ups and downs… so Jacqui mentions Ryan’s ‘preserving testosterone for the gym’ thing.
Jacqui says his discipline is attractive, before Ryan really puts his foot in it by replying “not at the expense of your needs”.
“But it was,” Jacqui laughs back.
Resident sexologist Alessandra is listening intently and you bet she has thoughts.
“Why were you not just pleasuring her?” she asks, point blank.
”What’s up with modern man, where did he go?” she continues.
OH MY GOD.
He agrees with her point, but then Jacqui and Ryan start to argue about how much compromise they’re each making in their relationship.
John points out that Ryan is speaking to Jacqui like she’s a school girl and he’s telling her off.
He asks for advice on fixing that, but it is derailed by Jacqui bursting into tears.
Wait, how did we get here?
The answer to that doesn’t really matter, because at decision time, they each ‘stay’.Play Video
The experts question why Ryan doesn’t prioritise his wife over his training
Unfortunately, after heading back to the couch, Ryan accidentally hits Jacqui in the head as he goes to put his arm around her. She laughs, but we all know he’s now going to need to make it up to her with 100 carefully counted forehead kisses.
Veronica and Eliot
The retreat did wonders for these two, but after returning Veronica has felt uneasy about how much of herself she has been holding back.
This is news to Eliot.
He feels like he’s in the experiment with someone who doesn’t even like him, which learning she went to Lauren for information about him only reinforces.Play Video
Veronica reveals she has been ‘holding back’ on being herself around Eliot
Based on their discussion, the experts fully expect to see ‘leave’ on their cards – but each have chosen to ‘stay’ to give it one more week.
Jeff and Rhi
This week, Jeff’s had a really hard time watching Rhi be so upset over her fall out with Jamie and it’s really demonstrated to him how strong his feelings are.
Mel decides we need a little more wholesome goodness tonight – and she’s not wrong!
“Can you see yourself falling in love with Rhi?” she asks.
He definitely thinks he’s on that path, which gives absolutely everybody the warm fuzzies.
She feels the same way, so obviously, they’re ‘staying!’
Beth and Teejay
These two have hit a snag this week, as Beth’s got in her head about whether Teejay is attracted to her or not.
This hurts him to hear, and he admits he’s stepped back from intimacy while believing she wasn’t reciprocating his feelings.Play Video
Beth worries Teejay has no attraction to her
So it’s essentially one big misunderstanding, but they’ll hopefully be able to work through it this week as they ‘stay’.
Carina and Paul
Carina tells the experts she does not stand for the type of behaviour she saw at Girls Night.
”You’re still suggesting that I’m a mean girl,” Jamie shouts across the room.
EXCLUSIVE: Dave reacts to co-star’s ‘risky behaviour’ after Dinner Party showdown
Carina says her goal has always been for everyone to get along, which is why she offered Lauren support.
But now it’s turned back on her and last night, she felt cornered and uncomfortable: “I felt like, less worthy and I’m not intelligent enough to say the least,” she admits.Play Video
Tensions flare up as Jamie and Carina discuss the ‘mean girls’ comment again
As she explains her feelings, Mel commends her for the courage to go against the group.
She felt supported by Paul throughout it all, and they find themselves in a good place as a united team. Both of them ‘stay’.
Jamie and Dave
Jamie is nervous to sit down, knowing she is about to face some hard truths about her behaviour on Wednesday night.
EXCLUSIVE: Jamie on the groom’s actions that stunned her most during explosive co-star fallout
She explains her side of things, of how humiliated she felt during the argument with Lauren and Clint.
She thinks of herself as “a mother bear” who is protective of her cubs, which Alessandra does not think is a fair statement.
”Mama bears don’t do this to their cubs. They just don’t.”
Alessandra does not doubt Jamie’s good intentions, but explains her communication style is not appropriate.Play Video
The experts call Jamie out on her behaviour at the Dinner Party
She points out that Lauren, who was the catalyst for all of this, walked away from the situation far less hurt than everyone else.
“She won, she came out on top, no?” Alessandra points out.
Jamie can see her wrongs and turns to apologise to Carina directly.
Alessandra validates that Lauren said some really horrible things, but says stooping to her level is not helpful.
Although it’s been a painful week, Jamie has a silver lining: Dave has been her rock throughout it.
She reveals that she told him ‘I love you’.
Dave hasn’t said it back, and he dances around the question of whether he can see himself getting to that point.
Uh oh…
Despite the awkwardness, both Jamie and Dave are ‘staying’.Play Video
Jamie admits she’s falling for Dave
WHAT IS HAPPENING? Are cracks emerging in the experiment’s strongest pair?
Oh boy, we have a feeling it’s going to be a(nother) huge week of MAFS. See you tomorrow night.
