The Big Trip on Channel 7 and 7plus S1E2 – In Streaky Bay, the teams gear up, sharing epic road trip tales – except for rookie Dilruk, who’s new to driving.

Lehmo attempts to teach him in a rural car park, causing chaotic stops that clear out caravans as Mitch and Mark look on, laughing. Lydia and Pia, focused on victory, remain unfazed.

Next stop: Wuddina, where Dave surprises them with an Aussie icon parade at a primary school. Mitch’s Steve Irwin and Gyton’s Ash Barty flop, but Lydia as a Matilda and Dil as “Pooey” (a funny Bluey knock-off) delight the kids, scoring Dil and Lehmo a win.

At Duck Ponds, Pia wins a hot-lap challenge, but to claim the point, she must steal it from another team. With alliances forming, she and Lydia swipe the point from Dil and Lehmo, with Mitch and Mark backing them. At Neptune Island, the teammates face a shark dive challenge in 5-metre waves.

Overcoming fear, Lydia leads, and one by one, the rest follow. Nikki, inspired to make her kids proud, ends with a magical dolphin encounter, marking a wild day of adventure.

About the Show

New celebrity adventure series The Big Trip revives the great Aussie road trip.

Eight stars of screen, sport and comedy embark on the Great Aussie Road Trip with a twist in the brand-new adventure series, The Big Trip, premiering 8.30pm, Wednesday 13 November on Channel 7 and 7plus.

Hosted by comedian Dave “Thorno” Thornton, The Big Trip sees four pairs of celebrity friends set out on an epic adventure across the Australian outback, with just two weeks to make it from the Great Australian Bight to Sydney’s Harbour Bridge.

The original format turns road tripping into a competitive sport, with the celebs facing high-stakes challenges at every turn, as they compete for the chance to gift $300,000 of hybrid and EV cars to some lucky fans.

What starts as a love letter to Australia and its larrikin locals, twists and turns through white-knuckle, nail-biting moments to hilarious shenanigans, as alliances form, betrayals brew and scandals erupt with teams going to any lengths to claim victory.

The four teams of celebrity pals competing on The Big Trip are:

The Competitors – Olympic Gold medallist and Australian Survivor contestant Lydia Lassila and actor turned Australian Survivor winner Pia Miranda

The Performers – “Covergirl comedian” and 2024 Dancing With The Stars finalist Nikki Osborne and Underbelly starGyton Grantley

The Stylists – former The Block contestants Mitch and Mark

The Comedians – TV WEEK Logie Award winner Dilruk Jayasinha and fellow comedian Anthony ‘Lehmo’ Lehmann

Produced by FINCH and Maker Real, the only thing you can expect from The Big Trip is the unexpected. Let the adventure begin!
