Mad Monday on Channel 7 Perth axed – Local 7 Perth football program, Mad Monday has been axed, effective immediately and will not run on 7mate for the remainder of the season.
Mad Monday on 7mate Perth was a new prime time AFL footy show – Every Monday was Mad Monday on 7mate – with all the weekend’s AFL antics for WA.
Mad Monday promised the AFL’s biggest stories, hardest hits and controversial calls.
Mad Monday was hosted by former footy rivals and good mates, Xavier Ellis and Michael Barlow, who brought high-level footy IQ and humour to to the go-to show for fearless commentary and shrewd analysis from inside the four walls.
They were joined each week by the most opinionated man to ever blow a whistle, Dean Margetts, who weighed in on contentious umpiring decisions.
Rounding out the Mad Monday team was midfielder Hamish Brayshaw who was to take a sledgehammer to matches with his unique perspective on the weekend’s hits and misses.
No reason for the cancellation was given, but given the small ratings on 7mate in Perth, that was likely to be the outcome.
