MLB World Series on ESPN Texas Rangers and the Arizona Diamondbacks

MLB World Series on ESPNJust two teams remain in the race for baseball’s biggest prize as the Texas Rangers and the Arizona Diamondbacks fight it out for the Major League Baseball World Series, beginning Saturday October 28 live on ESPN.

The American League and National League championship series both proved thrilling affairs, going all the way to a deciding seventh game, and the 2023 World Series looks set to continue that trend.

The first in the potentially best-of-seven MLB World Series between the Texas Rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks begins Saturday October 28 live on ESPN at 10.30am AEDT.

Game Two will follow on Sunday October 29 at 11am AEDT, also LIVE on ESPN from Arlington, Texas – the site of the first two MLB World Series games.

Texas Rangers booked their place in the World Series by downing the defending MLB champion Houston Astros 11-4 in game seven to take the American League championship.

The Rangers were bested by Houston in the AL West but proved superior in the post-season to set up their first trip to the World Series since 2011 – where they lost in seven games to the Arizona Cardinals.

Their World Series charge has been led by outfielder Adolis Garcia, plus Nathan Eovaldi and Jordan Montgomery on the pitching mound.

Texas are one of six MLB franchises to have never won a World Series.

Arizona clinched the National League championship against the Philadelphia Phillies with a 4-2 game seven win, sending the Diamondbacks to their first World Series since 2001.

They showed fight clawing back from a two-game deficit to take the series, with crucial wins on the road, having already blitzed the fancied Los Angeles Dodgers earlier in the playoffs.

The Diamondbacks won their only other trip to the World Series, defeating the New York Yankees in seven games to take the franchises single World Series title.

Arizona hold a 3-1 advantage over the Rangers across the MLB regular season and won their last two encounters on home turf back in August.

Led by speedy rookie Corbin Carroll and second baseman Ketel Marte, the Diamondbacks are capable of scoring and taking flight on the bases.

ESPN will have every game of the 2023 Major League Baseball World Series LIVE
