Mega week of women’s sport on Seven wit WBBL finals and AFLW Grand Final

The Seven Network is locked and loaded to deliver an epic week of women’s sport, headlined by Saturday’s Women’s Big Bash League Final and Sunday’s 2022 AFL Women’s Grand Final, live and free on Channel 7, 7mate and 7plus.

After a thrilling 2022 season, it all comes down to this week when the WBBL Finals kick off on Seven, Your Home of Cricket.

Beginning tomorrow night at 7.00pm AEDT on 7mate, with the highly anticipated Eliminator clash between Brisbane Heat and Hobart Hurricanes, Seven has cricket fans covered across all three WBBL Finals matches, including the all-important WBBL Final, hosted by the Sydney Sixers, this Saturday at 5.00pm AEDT on 7mate.

Following Thursday night’s Challenger match at 7.00pm AEDT on 7mate, hosted by the Adelaide Strikers at Karen Rolton Oval, cricket fans can tune into The Front Bar: Cricket Edition, when Mick, Sam and Andy will be joined by former Australian batsman and Sevencommentator Matthew Hayden, alongside iconic West Indies fast bowler, Sir Curtly Ambrose, to launch the 2022-23 summer of cricket on Seven.

Seven’s coverage of Saturday’s WBBL Final will feature Lisa Sthalekar, Katey Martin, Holly Ferling, Brad Hodge and Andy Maher.

Following an action-packed Finals Series, Seven is set to broadcast the jewel in the crown of the AFL Women’s competition, the 2022 AFLW Grand Final, this Sunday at 1.30pm AEDT on Channel 7 and 7plus.

For the fourth time since the competition’s inception in 2017, the Brisbane Lions will once again line up on AFLW Grand Final day, this time hosting Daisy Pearce’s Melbourne Demons at Brighton Homes Arena in Queensland.

On Grand Final Day, footy fans will be treated to expert insight and analysis from Seven’s esteemed group of AFLW callers and hosts, including 2022 AFLW Premiership Cup Ambassador Abbey Holmes, former Geelong Cats captain Melissa Hickey, Jason Bennett, Jo Wotton, Sam Lane and Nat Edwards.

Managing Director Seven Melbourne and Head of Network Sport, Lewis Martin, said: “We’ve already kick-started a cracking summer of cricket, but it cranks up a notch this week. We’ve landed at the most exciting point in the world’s #1 women’s T20 competition, with the 2022 Women’s Big Bash League finals series set to be decided over three epic contests.

“Fans also won’t want to miss the return of The Front Bar: Cricket Edition, as the countdown begins to the exhilarating action of the Big Bash League and a monumental Test summer.

In the AFLW, all roads lead to Sunday’s Grand Final, headlined by the game’s very best, the Brisbane Lions – with reigning league Best and Fairest winner, Emily Bates – and Daisy Pearce’s Demons. Will Melbourne finally reach the Premiership success they’ve come so close to, or will the Lions claim the ultimate prize for a second time?,” he said.

“Once again, we have assembled a talented, experienced, and highly respected AFLW on-air line-up, including current and former players, who know the game better than anyone else.

“As we embark on an electrifying week of women’s footy and cricket finals, the only place you can see every unmissable moment, live and free is on Seven, Your Home of Sport.”
