BritBox highlights for the month of March include The Confessions of Frannie Langton, The Cleaner, Vera, The Goodies and Father Brown.

This March, Aussies can watch some of the most anticipated shows to come directly from the UK, with fresh content including new series premieres to all-time favourites, catch the best of British television exclusively on BritBox.

‘THE CONFESSIONS OF FRANNIE LANGTON’

SEASON 1, NEW AND EXCLUSIVE TO BRITBOX, BRITBOX ORIGINAL, AUSTRALIAN PREMIERE

GENRE: PERIOD DRAMA, CRIME

Adapted from the award winning 2019 period drama novel written by Sara Collins

In a haunting tale of forbidden love, slave turned servant Frannie Langton, played by Karla-Simone Spence (Gold Digger), travels from her Jamaican plantation to 1800s London where she finds herself accused of the brutal murder of her master and mistress.

This gothic mystery is packed with twists and turns, all set in the dark-alleys of old London. Viewers will be hooked on the unique and well-crafted, in-depth story, filled with complexities and modern sensibilities.

The Guardian UK scored the series a 4-star rating and noted that “Bridgerton fans will love The Confessions of Frannie Langton.”

Also starring Patrick Martins (Redemption), Pooky Quesnel (W1A, The Guilty), Sophie Cookson (Gypsy, Kingsman) and Stephen Campbell-Moore (The History Boys, The Bank Job).

‘THE CLEANER’

Greg Davies returns as a comedic crime scene cleaner

Following the huge success of the first season launched in 2022, The Cleaner is back for a second season of dark comedy and celebrity guest appearances.

BAFTA award winner Greg Davies (Inbetweeners, Taskmaster) plays Paul ‘Wicky’ Wickstead, a chatty crime scene cleaning technician. In his job, he encounters the most unusual characters, from people who knew the victims to the occasional murderer returning to the scene of crime.

The hilarious crime comedy is based on the multi-award-winning German cult hit Der Tatortreiniger. The first season saw guest appearances from Helena Bonham Carter (Fight Club, Sweeney Todd, Les Miserables) ,and David Mitchell (Peep Show, Ambassadors).

Set in the 1950s, Mark Williams (Harry Potter, Shakespeare in Love) is back as Father Brown with John Burton (Coronation Street) as Sergeant Goodfellow, solving baffling murders and crimes around the sleepy fictional village of Kembleford, located in Gloucestershire in the Cotswolds.
