GENR8 2023 Registration Now Open!

GENR8 2023 Registration Now Open! – Screen Producers Australia (SPA) today opened registrations to GENR8 (Wed, 16 Aug 2023), a one-day ideas forum and networking event, building momentum as one of Australia’s most progressive events for forward-thinking screen producers who are curious about innovative storytelling and harnessing technical advancements.

In 2023 GENR8 will continue to put the newest screen industry technology trends under the microscope and case studies where new methodologies have been utilised to develop unique experiences for audiences.

This will be the GENR8’s first time in Melbourne, and with the city being a renowned hub for forward-thinking and technology-based creatives and innovators, SPA is excited about the calibre of local speakers coming on board to participate in panels on the day.

The 2023 program, set to be released Wednesday, 12 July, promises to be as exciting, engaging, and thought-provoking as ever, with key focus points to be discussed by esteemed speakers, including,

  • GENR8 one year on: a health check on last year’s big tech trends, where they are at now, what’s next and what the hell happened to the Metaverse? And what does all this have to do with the Australian screen industry?

  • The Next Gen: rising producers share their thoughts on how they are navigating the business of screen in bold and unique ways.

  • Case Study: a look at successful business models for sustainable Virtual Reality.

  • Experts break down the exponential growth of Virtual Production and how it can be cost-effective.

  • Virtual Production in practice: a dive into producer workflow and pathways on a practical level.

  • Artificial Intelligence: What does this mean for the screen industry and how can we harness AI in practical ways now?

With GENR8’s move to Melbourne in 2023, SPA proudly welcomes two new Victorian partners with their fingers on the pulse, Victoria’s creative and economic screen development agency VicScreen, and leading educational facility RMIT University.

VicScreen CEO, Caroline Pitcher said,

“From our state-of-the-art virtual production infrastructure to one of the biggest sound stages in the Southern Hemisphere, Victoria prides itself on being at the forefront of screen technology. We are delighted to support GENR8’s move to Melbourne, inspiring Victoria’s local screen industry to harness the endless possibilities of groundbreaking new technology.”

“The Screenwriting and Screen, Media & Digital Media programs of RMIT’s College of Vocational Education welcome this innovative event.
