Today is the official launch of TV Central.

Thank you for being here and for your support since the soft launch on 6 October, 2022.

It was important to get the site ‘right’ before focusing on marketing and SEO.

Since 6 October, 2022 the site has:

  • changed the font to make reading more clear
  • added advertisements to the site (an unfortunate but necessary evil needed to monetize the site so that all content remains free)
  • fixed social media posting so that all posts go to social media via Twitter, Instagram and Facebook
  • added primary channel guides for 7, 10 and ABC to the front of the site. All other guides are in the guides section
  • refined the ratings section to have the most comprehensive ratings wrap 7 days per week
  • integrated podcasts with 11 streaming platforms including Apple and Spotify (advertisements are coming soon there as well)
  • added 7Bravo guides to the site
  • Published 1 218 posts + 475 television guides

The focus now will be content (more original content) and focusing on marketing and SEO. The next three key projects will be:

  • creating a newsletter service
  • creating a television chat forum
  • Fixing image issues so that they are not cropped, depending on your device.

We have a great media landscape in Australia and I believe my site is only a competitor to a couple of other websites. Otherwise, TV Central compliments the fantastic effort other services provide including my favourites at Mediaweek and Mumbrella.

The site has launched today with two podcasts looking at two big tentpoles – Australian Survivor and Australian Idol.

Expect a podcast on Better Date than Never (ABC) and with Stan Walker for Stan Walker: Impossible Live (SBS) this coming week.

I have a great rapport with the publicists at the networks and streamers and am looking forward to a continuing great relationship.

Whilst TV Central will acknowledge the negative ratings of a particular show or if it doesn’t live up to expectations, the main focus of the site is to celebrate television, be positive and encourage those in the industry from the talent to those behind the scenes.

TV Central will run 7 days per week, meaning I can capture news as it breaks, TV Central was the first major television website to feature the farewell to Pat Welsh at Seven as the bulletin went to air on a Saturday night. Where I am available, I will publish stories as they come in so readers have the information as soon as possible.

If you have a tip or would like to be part of the TV Central team, feel free to email me.

The unofficial ratings season starts on Monday 30 January with the official ratings season starting Sunday 12 February…. so let’s get going!

Again, thank you for your support and patience throughout the soft launch. Special thanks to TV Central’s administrator Adrian and my best friends Zak and Matthew.

God bless

Aaron

TV Central Reaches Milestone with 10,000th Post: A Testament to Growth and Dedication

After a soft launch on 6 October 2022, TV Central will fully launch this Sunday 29 January 2023, ahead of the season premieres of Married at First Sight (Nine), Australian Idol (Seven) and Australian Survivor (10) on Monday 30 January.

TV Central provides media outlets and readers with comprehensive daily ratings analysis for all free to air channels, 7 days per week.

Site Owner and Editor, Aaron Ryan says,

“Ratings come through every single day and I believe it’s important to have detailed coverage across the entire week as share points can go right down to the wire, with end of week ratings deciding the weekly winner.”

How does TV Central work?

  • A major focus for TV Central will be regular podcasts. In an era where readers are becoming listeners, the podcasts cover a range of media leaders and personalities both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.
  • For 15+ years Aaron Ryan has provided industry leaders and readers with user friendly free to air television guides for channel and programing selection. Guides will contain a full week of primetime information including market variations across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. The guide is updated daily with amendments.
  • TV Central will also be a one stop shop for streaming options with the site publishing sixteen eighteen separate streaming reports each and every month from Disney+ to Netflix, to Stan and Paramount+ and Hayu and BritBox, TV Central will have your viewing choices covered.

The site will obviously contain the latest news and exclusives for readers that will often be seen before its competitors.

Aaron says, “Rather than wait for peak traffic times or calculating how many posts there are in one day, I will post information as soon as the release and I are available, irrespective of the time/day. That means you will often see stories first on TV Central”

Who is behind TV Central?

This year, Aaron Ryan celebrates 25 years of working in media analysis and has built both a broad and distinct knowledge of the industry and has a strong rapport with executives across the industry.

He believes TV Central fits nicely into the current media landscape to most often compliment rather than compete with other outlets,

“I am a massive fan of Mumbrella and Mediaweek and will proudly highlight some of their work from time to time. These fantastic organizations have a clear focus and intent, which is targeted and distinctive and for the most part, do not overlap with what I do at TV Central. I feature the work of Leo Puglisi at 6 News on the site as I am proud to showcase the work people do in this industry. For the sites that would be considered direct competition, I have a strong focus on regular podcasts, television guide information and showcasing stories from over 18 streaming platforms.”

Aaron appears on radio fortnightly in Perth for 98.5 Sonshine FM and is open to opportunities for radio segments on a regular basis free of charge for 2023.

TV Central is happy to accept media releases relating to television.

Please contact Aaron via aaron@tvcentral.com.au or 0400 218 566 for enquiries.
