Weekly Ratings Australia – Nine has won week 12 in Total People, 16-39 and 25-54 and both in primary and network shares.

Analysis


Nine has a clean sweep winning Network Total People and Network Primary Channel as well as Network / Primary 16-39 and Network / Primary 25-54.

Nine claimed a Total People Network win in Sydney and, Brisbane. Seven won Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Nine claimed a Total People Primary win in Sydney and Brisbane. Seven took Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

Seven can claim highest multi channel for the week with 7two.

10 Peach was the highest multi channel in 16-39 and 25-54.

ABC TV did beat 10 in total people in both network and primary channel, however, it should be noted that ABC have a massive advantage in older age brackets. In 16-39, 10 smashed ABC (19.6% to just 12.0%) and in 25-54 (18.7% to 12.7%) with network shares.

The main points to summarise the week from a Nine perspective are: 

  • This week marks ten consecutive weeks that Nine’s primary channel and the 9Network are No. 1 with all key demos and Total People.
  • Across the network shares (prime time), 9Network recorded the following winning shares:
    • People 25-54: 43%
    • People 16-39: 40.8%
    • Grocery Shopper + Child: 47.1%
    • Total People: 42.5%
  • Across the primary channel shares (prime time), Channel 9 recorded the following winning shares:
    • People 25-54: 33.4%
    • People 16-39: 32.7%
    • Grocery Shopper + Child: 38%
    • Total People: 32.4%
  • Leading the charge was the unassailable Married At First Sight which took out the Top 4 programs with People 25-54, 16-39 and GS + Child. It also took out the Top 3 programs with Total People across the 5 City Metro. 
  • Sunday night’s episode of MAFS was the most watched program of the week in Australia. It currently has a Total TV audience of 1.806 million viewers (Metro o/night: 927,000 / Regional o/night: 325,000 / BVOD: 554,000).  
  • 12 episodes of the current series of MAFS have each recorded a Total TV audience in excess of two million viewers. 
  • 27 episodes of MAFS have each recorded a Total TV audience in excess of 1.8 million viewers. Their Total TV average audience continues to attract new viewers every day.
  • 12 episodes of MAFS currently have a BVOD audience greater than 700,000.

Seven’s AFL Thursday Night Football, Carlton v Geelong Cats: #2 program of the week in Melbourne in 16 to 39s. 587,000 viewers nationally.

Better Homes and Gardens: 545,000 viewers nationally. #1 lifestyle program of the week.

Sunrise: #1 breakfast program of the week. 364,000 average national audience Monday to Friday, 31% bigger audience than closest breakfast competitor.
