Better Homes and Gardens on Channel 7 and 7plus S30E28 – storyline rundown for episode 28, 2024, screening at 7.00pm on Friday 9 August on 7 and 7plus.
ADAM + JULIET – SWAP IT, CHANGE IT, RECYCLE IT, MULTIPURPOSE ROOM
Whether you have a growing family or you just like a bit of retail therapy, you’re going to accumulate more stuff, forcing you to buy more storage, requiring more space to store all the stuff. So, Adam and Juliet are going to transform a family room that’s becoming overloaded, into a multipurpose room featuring built-in storage and a workstation. By stripping everything back and creating custom storage with off-the-shelf products, they’ll not only make the most of the space, but do it on a family-friendly budget. They might just give you some inspiration to do the same at your place.

PETE – THE TRANSFORMATION OF TALLEBUDGERA HOUSE
The Gold Coast hinterland is a prime location for a dream home. So, it’s no surprise to find Pete there exploring a luxury family home, in which some imagination led to a transformation that started with a little bit of preservation. Originally, it was an average 90s red brick house, but now features the latest in open plan and resort style living. With literally no stone left untouched, and beautiful views across the Tallebudgera Valley, this is a dream that might be within your reach.
JOHANNA – THE FARM WITH HEART
In the Byron Bay hinterland sits Summerland farm, the beating heart of the region. Not only do they grow avocadoes and macadamias in vast orchards, but they highlight the region’s other produce via their onsite providore. As Joh learns during a tour, there’s also a petting zoo with lots of animals and a high-end restaurant to make the most of all that fresh produce. Despite all that, it’s the fact the business employs over 100 disabled members of the community that really provides the most joy. So, while most farms grow food to nourish the body, this farm also nourishes the soul.
COLIN – WHOLE ROAST SNAPPER
If you’re not confident about cooking fish on the barbecue, don’t worry, because Colin’s going to teach you a super simple method to barbecue a whole snapper that will build your confidence and then tickle your tastebuds. But a delicious fish needs a delicious accompaniment, and Colin’s tomato, capsicum and leafy green salad is just as easy to make. Served on the one tray, this recipe looks like it could belong in a cookbook, impressing your family as a mid-week meal or exciting your friends at your next get together.
GRAHAM – THE BATH HOUSE GARDEN
Planting a garden that looks beautiful during all four seasons of the year is probably the most difficult gardening assignment, but that’s exactly what The Bath House Garden has done. Set on four acres of sprawling estate, this garden features the flavours of France, England and Italy all creating charming spaces different from one another. As Graham chats to the owners, he discovers no job was too big or too small for them, doing all the brick work and stonework themselves and even using their own self-taught design flare. So, take a look around and be charmed by this rustic country estate.
CHARLIE – EVOLVING BACKYARD: STAGE TWO
The evolving backyard is about showing you what can be achieved on the one site with three different levels of spend. After transforming the yard with a modest spend, this time Charlie is raising the budget and raising the height. He’s going to add an arbour and four feature trees to give the garden a vertical accent and really set the tone for the space. After this second week of upgrades, there are two distinct areas of the garden. Just how far can it evolve?
MELISSA – GROWING GINGER IN A POT
Ginger’s a great flavour in your cooking and healthy for you to boot. But have you ever thought about growing your own? It’s ridiculously easy and Melissa will show you how.
DR HARRY – BASSETT BUDDIES
This week, Dr Harry is checking out a club that has just one rule of membership: you need to own a basset hound to join or be one yourself! In the picturesque seaside town of Williamstown, near Melbourne, this very furry club meets up monthly for a walk and a catch-up…and they even wear cute basset outfits! Dr Harry is joining in on the fun to find out what’s so special about basset hounds and what issues trouble the lovable breed.
