Austin on ABC – Austin (Michael Theo) is keen to get to know the father he never knew and has organised a day out to bond. Julian (Ben Miller) is fully onboard – it will be the perfect “father son event” for the documentary.
But when the award-winning documentary maker is yet to land in Australia Julian enlists Ingrid (Sally Phillips) to unknowingly “capture the day on video”.
Austin has organised a targeted tour of Canberra, including old Parliament House to re-educate Julian on wartime Germany, and a visit to the stationery department of New Parliament House.
But when Ingrid discovers Julian is secretly getting her to secretly film footage for his “exploitative” documentary she storms off, leaving Julian and Austin to catch public transport home. Will a bus ride prove to be the perfect place to bond?
