The latest Ipsos iris results for January 2026 show The West Australiannews brandentering the new year with strong momentum, building on sustained digital growth and reinforcing its leadership as Western Australia’s #1 digital news brand.
The West Australian Brand Group recorded a 14% year-on-year increase in national audience in January and maintained its position as the top-ranked news brand in WA also delivering the highest volume of page views in the state.
That momentum was led by thewest.com.au, which grew its audience by 28% year-on-year in January.
The West Australian’s sustained growth underscores its unrivalled position in the WA market, where it continues to dominate as the #1 digital news brand in both audience and engagement.
The strong performance extended across the portfolio, with PerthNow recording a 13% year-on-year lift in audience, further strengthening the group’s overall digital reach and impact across Western Australia.
