After two seasons in Northern New South Wales, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia returned to screens live from the South African jungle, at a new time of year in April.

Last night, after four weeks living on a diet of rice and beans with her fellow celebrity campmates, Liz Ellis was crowned Queen of the jungle and won $100,000 for her chosen charity, Share The Dignity.

852,000 national viewers tuned in to The Winner Announced to see Liz crowned, it was the #1 entertainment show of the night, and the #1 show in 16 to 39s. It was the biggest ever live stream audience for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!. The Winner Announced was also #1 in its timeslot with a 34% commercial share, as well as #1 in under 50s (45.5%), 25 to 54s (41.6%) and 16 to 39s (47.7%).

789,000 national viewers watched the Grand Finale. It was the #2 entertainment show of the night and #1 in its timeslot as well as #1 in 25 to 54s and 16 to 39s.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! season nine premiere was 10’s biggest launch in 2023 to date. The Opening Night episode launched to 830,000 total national viewers (metro + regional + BVOD), while Welcome To The Jungle achieved 823,000 viewers.

Across the season, I’m A Celebrity’s overnight national audience was boosted 33% from 616,000 to a total national audience of 818,000. I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! was also #1 in its timeslot in 25 to 54s across the season.

On 10 Play, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! celebrated its biggest live stream audience, up 35% compared with 2022, and biggest BVOD audience, up 46%.

Senior Vice President Content and Programming, Paramount Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), Daniel Monaghan, said:

“We’re delighted with the performance of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in its new timeslot starting straight after our Formula One coverage and just in time for family viewing over Easter.

“This year’s celebrities have brought our screens alive, bringing authenticity, humour and warmth not to mention a dash of drama. We’ve loved seeing their personal growth in the jungle and peeling back the layers of each celebrity, getting to know their worthy charities and seeing their bonds and friendships flourish in camp. And of course, their bravery, fortitude and folly as they faced frightening and revolting challenges that have given us unforgettable, laugh out loud moments.

“It’s also been wonderful to back in South Africa, the birthplace of the series, and we must congratulate our incredibly talented team at Network 10 and ITV Studios Australia, on delivering an outstanding season. Hosts Julia Morris and Dr. Chris Brown have been exceptional, and what a fitting swan song for Chris to be finishing his time on the series with a stellar season.

“We’re thrilled to welcome new royalty to Australia and see Liz crowned the Queen of the jungle and are proud to donate $100,000 to her charity, Share the Dignity.”

Chief Sales Officer, Paramount ANZ, Rod Prosser, said:

“I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! delivered strong results for us this season, growing 10’s timeslot 15% year-on-year.

“The series has consistently won entertainment in under 50s and 25 to 54s, secured significant commercial shares over 30% in these key advertising demos and has achieved its biggest BVOD audiences ever with 46% growth on last year.

“We must also thank our wonderful sponsors including Bedshed who have joined us in the jungle for the last four years exemplifying the way we build and maintain positive partnerships. And new sponsor Harris Scarfe who joined us in the jungle for the first time.

“Both brands were featured in fresh and fun integrations that were loved by our celebrities and audiences alike delivering positive brand messages in our brand-safe series I’m A Celebrity …Get Me Out Of Here!”
