Australian Survivor: Rivals cast revealed for Channel 10’s world-first season – The Australian Survivor Rivals cast has been revealed, with Channel 10 confirming a world-first theme, a new Malaysia location and a 24-player field for the 2027 season.
The new season will pit matched opponents against each other across two tribes, turning familiar sporting, television and real-world rivalries into the central engine of the game. For Australian viewers, it also continues the next chapter for Australian Survivor under host David Genat after the 2026 Redemption season.
Australian Survivor: Rivals will see castaways compete for the $500,000 prize and the title of Sole Survivor, while also trying to outlast a direct rival with similar strengths, physicality, smarts, drive or public profile.
Network 10 says the season will head to Malaysia, where Genat will put some of Australia’s fiercest rivalries to the test. The line-up includes League versus Union, AFL adversaries, Olympic champions, actors, red carpet identities, athletes, lawyers, vloggers, divas, rebels and power mums.
Former Collingwood AFL player Heath Shaw said he was joining Australian Survivor to push himself again.
“I’m coming on Australian Survivor to put myself in an uncomfortable position again and test the boundaries, which I haven’t done for a while,” Shaw said.
Former Essendon AFL player Adam Cooney framed the season as a chance to settle old sporting scores.
“It’s time to see if I’ve got any competitive juices left in me. Let’s bring back the Anzac Day rivalry between me and Heath. I never won a Grand Final and I didn’t beat Heath on Anzac Day either. But this is where I get my revenge, on Australian Survivor!” Cooney said.

Among the headline match-ups, Robbie Farah and Adam Ashley-Cooper bring a League-versus-Union contest, while Heath Shaw and Adam Cooney revive the Collingwood-versus-Essendon rivalry. Twin designers Alisa and Lysandra Fraser from The Block will put their sibling bond into the game, and Olympic champions Kerri Pottharst and Danielle Scott bring a Summer-versus-Winter Games dynamic.
Actors Bernard Curry and Lincoln Lewis will also compete, alongside Mitch Churi and Christian Wilkins, athletes Sharni Layton and Sarah Yatim, and a broader field built around paired identities and clashing personalities.
Australian Survivor: Rivals is produced by Endemol Shine Australia, part of Banijay Entertainment. The season is coming to Channel 10 in 2027.
