Screen Producers Australia (SPA) today takes great pleasure in announcing that registrations for the 37th annual SCREEN FOREVER, Australia’s premier screen industry event, are open from 12.00pm AEDT today (Monday 19 Dec 2022).

Over five inspirational days, local and international screen industry leaders across all genres and disciplines will converge to connect and do business through an extensive array of opportunities available at SCREEN FOREVER 37.

03-05 May 2023 will see SCREEN FOREVER 37, including the SPA Connect Market, come alive again on Queensland’s glittering Gold Coast, where delegates can look forward to a program bursting with unmissable networking events, business meetings and inspiring thought leadership. With a return to international travel, SPA expects the largest assembly of international buyers and partners seen in Australia for many years.

An online Global Market will take place from 09-10 May 2023, where delegates have the enviable chance to promote their screen businesses, slates, and productions to a myriad of buyers, commissioning executives, distributors, and sales agents from across the globe who aren’t physically attending this year.

Markets, trends and finance will be explored in agenda-setting discussions on cutting-edge distribution, streaming models, commissioning and the economic future of screen business. Story and vision sessions will break down the craft and creativity of screen content with discussion topics ranging from trends and pathways to positive and inclusive change. As producers strive to shift the status quo, the program will also investigate current directions in policy, industry challenges, evolving production models, and the embracing of technology. Interactive development workshops will be programmed, providing a wealth of learning and upskilling opportunities.

May 2023 will also see the return of not to be missed social networking events, including the ever-popular official Opening Night Drinks, the Screenrights Speed Networking Breakfast, the City of Gold Coast Sunset Cocktail Hour, and the highly anticipated closing night Gala Party.

The prestigious SPA Awards also return for the 21st incarnation to celebrate excellence in the screen production industry.

SPA CEO Matthew Deaner said, “We’re thrilled to be back again on the Gold Coast to celebrate the 37th year of SCREEN FOREVER. Extensive research and consultation have gone into the planning of our 2023 program, and we are sure delegates will revel in thought-provoking content and immerse themselves in an environment where they can grow their networks and their business acumen through opportunities provided nowhere else but SCREEN FOREVER. Watch this space for some special program announcements to come in the coming months.”

SCREEN FOREVER is proudly supported by the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland.

Screen Queensland CEO Courtney Gibson said, “Queensland’s partnership with SCREEN FOREVER locates the country’s pre-eminent forum for screen business and creativity in the heart of Australia’s leading production hub.

“The Queensland screen industry looks forward to playing host to producers and commissioners from Australia and around the world as they gather at SCREEN FOREVER 37 to do business, drive increased collaboration and innovation, and secure major development and production deals.”

“There’s only one ticket film, and television businesses need next May – a ticket to the Screen Forever conference on the Coast,’’ said Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate.

“The conference attracts the who’s who of film and television and reinforces our council’s commitment to this global industry. Make it a date in May 2023.’’

After a completely sold-out event earlier in 2022, delegates are encouraged to register early to secure their spot at www.screenforever.org.au.

More information on SCREEN FOREVER 37 can be found at www.screenforever.org.au.

The full SCREEN FOREVER 37 program will be announced in late March 2023.
