Inside the Langham: Britain’s First Grand Hotel offers access to the staff and guests of Europe’s oldest grand hotel. The three-part series follows the work that keeps the London destination running.
The cameras move from an underground laboratory where new cocktails are invented to housekeeping and front of house. Staff members and customers who return year after year reveal different sides of hotel life.
As the New Year begins, the hotel prepares to launch a four-bedroom luxury suite designed by Liberty of London. It will cost more than the hotel’s current premium suite, priced at GBP25,000 a night.
The team races to complete it ahead of the hotel’s anniversary year. Guest Services Manager David road-tests the suite before its official opening.
Meanwhile, Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux searches for a new trainee chef at Chez Roux. The recruitment provides another view of the expectations behind the hotel’s service.
New front-of-house staff member Angela faces the pressures of high-end hospitality when a regular VIP arrives. Her experience sits alongside the suite launch and kitchen story in the series premiere.
