The Negotiator on SBS and SBS on Demand S1E1 – The Negotiator, inspired by true events, tells the story of Captain Gabriel Menck (Malvino Salvador), an agent of the São Paulo Military Police STAG (Special Tactical Actions Group), responsible for hostage negotiations.
Series One, Episode One: In The Name Of The Father
Captain Gabriel Menck, GATE’s negotiator, is back at work after a leave of absence following the death of his wife. On his first day back, he meets Major Chacur (Barbara Reis), his new crisis manager and together, they work on an unsuccessful robbery turned kidnapping of two hostages inside a church.
Menck spends hours negotiating the victim’s lives until he finds out there is more to the money in this case. Menck clashes with Major Chacur and Siqueira (César Mello), the leader of GATE’s tactical team while attempting to buy time to solve the case.
