Tonight | The Death Coast on SBS Viceland searches for hidden treasure in Into The Eye Of The Storm – as shipwreck hunter Jeff MacKinnon and his team brave dangerous waters in pursuit of long-lost wrecks and priceless artefacts.
Set in one of the world’s most treacherous stretches of ocean, The Death Coast explores a region of the North Atlantic that has claimed more than 6,000 vessels over the centuries. While sailors once navigated these waters for trade, war and plunder, the wrecks and their treasures have remained untouched due to long-standing salvage restrictions.
After securing exclusive rights to dive in the region, Jeff MacKinnon and his team have just 12 weeks to investigate the wrecks before turbulent conditions make diving impossible.
In tonight’s episode, Into The Eye Of The Storm, the team battles thick kelp, brutal currents and an approaching storm while searching the waters off Scaterie Island. Just as the weather closes in, they make a crucial discovery that could become the key to uncovering hidden treasure and solving the mystery of long-lost shipwrecks.
