Merton’s interest in the topic stems from his father, who used to drive trains on the London Underground. His journeys across the UK and Europe cause him to reflect on his father’s life on the rails and reconnect with the roots of his passion.

Paul travels the French Riviera on rails, taking control of a steam engine on the stunning Pine Cone line before stopping off to ride a historic Solex motor-bicycle and visit France’s ‘other’ D-Day landing site.
