King & Conqueror on SBS and SBS on Demand S1E7 and S1E8 – A thousand years ago, a new King of England is crowned, triggering a series of events that will change the course of English and European history forever.
Two men, Harold of Wessex & Duke William of Normandy, find themselves locked in a fight for that same crown, which they never wanted nor expected. They start as allies but end as foes at the Battle of Hastings, where one of them must die.
Series One, Episode Seven
Harold faces Hardrada in battle and triumphs but loses his beloved brother Tostig. William sacrifices his oldest companion Fitz to secure the ships for his invasion. Both men have lost everything and all that is left is the crown of England.
Series One, Episode Eight
William and Harold finally meet at Hastings where they must fight to the death. When one is victorious, the history of England changes forever. As William is crowned William I of England, Harold’s family flee for their lives.
