I Am Luke Perry on SBS Viceland and SBS on Demand – I Am Luke Perry is a feature-length documentary produced by Luke’s friend and 90210 co-star Jason Priestley, celebrating the life of a generational talent from humble roots who emerged from small-town obscurity to become a Hollywood heartthrob and an icon of popular culture.
From his breakout role as Dylan McKay in Beverly Hills, 90210, to his most challenging film roles in Normal Life and 8 Seconds, Luke went on to deliver beloved performances in Riverdale and Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.
Now, for the first time, I Am Luke Perry will celebrate the talents of an unwaveringly humble and hard-working artist who transcended his teen heartthrob origins to become a serious and widely acclaimed actor in film and TV, whose body of work has touched millions.
Featuring a curated selection of rare and well-known photographs, footage, and memorabilia from private collections and world-class archives, and new interviews with those who appreciated Luke’s talent more directly than anyone – the filmmakers, actors, and accomplished colleagues from his three-decade career – I Am Luke Perry will chart the extraordinary life and career of one of contemporary Hollywood’s most beloved screen idols.
