Dad’s Secret War France 1944 on SBS airs Saturday 22 August at 5.25pm on SBS and streams on SBS On Demand. Kevin Bacon narrates a documentary about top-secret World War II operations after D-Day.
The film focuses on the OSS and British SOE, organisations responsible for silent, unseen missions of critical importance to defeating the Nazis.
The premiere gives SBS viewers a wartime documentary built around covert operations rather than frontline battle alone, with the French Resistance central to the story.
The documentary follows an American who joined the British SOE and parachuted into France with a small team to organise the French Resistance after D-Day.
