Created by acclaimed playwright David Ireland, Coldwater follows John, played by The Walking Dead star Andrew Lincoln, a former London stay-at-home father whose life is thrown into turmoil after a violent playground confrontation triggers a profound identity crisis. Seeking a fresh start, John uproots his family and relocates to the seemingly idyllic rural Scottish community of Coldwater.
But peace proves elusive. John’s growing friendship with charismatic neighbour Tommy (Ewan Bremner) has offered him a renewed sense of purpose, despite Tommy’s increasingly unsettling behaviour. Unbeknownst to John, however, Tommy is hiding disturbing secrets that threaten to shatter the life he has worked so hard to rebuild.
In tonight’s episode, John’s emotional struggles continue as he attempts to come to terms with his lingering guilt. Yet an unusual hunting expedition with Tommy begins to alter his outlook, potentially drawing him deeper into a relationship that may prove dangerous.
