Cold War Spies on SBS and SBS on Demand S1E1 – Cold War Spies pulls the iron curtain back on the Cold War, a conflict fought by spies, not soldiers, where the weapons were secret cameras, miniature recording devices, codes, stealth and poisoned umbrellas.
With contributions by former agents of the CIA, M15 and the KGB, the series includes archive film from the time, supplemented by evocations of key moments and first-hand accounts from those who lived to tell the tale.
Series One, Episode One: Licence To Kill
This series premiere looks at the Poisoned Umbrella case, the assassination of President John F Kennedy, and the Salisbury Poisonings as well as the bizarre, but documented, story of USSR President Joseph Stalin ordering a hit on Hollywood Legend John Wayne.
Cold War Spies on SBS and SBS on Demand – Series Premiere / Sunday 26 April at 5.35pm (6 Parts)
