Revealed: The Cape on Stan – Stan, Australia’s unrivalled home of original productions, today premiered the brand new Stan Original Documentary Revealed: The Cape. Produced by Wooden Horse (The Clearing, Stan Original Series The Other Guy, Mother and Son), Revealed: The Cape is an intimate portrayal of an isolated community touched, and forever changed, by tragedy.
Revealed: The Cape is the story of rival fishing families who built empires amongst the twisted mangroves in Far North Queensland.
The isolation, an all-consuming sexual obsession and a series of small choices leads to a suspected double murder of Brad and Bevin Simmonds. Emmy® Award-nominated filmmakers, Michael Ware and Justine A. Rosenthal take us on a journey into Australia’s Deep North and the human psyche to uncover what we’re capable of when our humanity is stripped bare in this fascinating portrayal of an insular and isolated community.
Written and directed by Justine A. Rosenthal and Michael Ware, Revealed: The Cape is produced by Richard Finlayson (Stuff the British Stole, Waltzing the Dragon with Benjamin Law), with executive producer Jude Troy (Mother and Son, The Clearing, Stan Original SeriesThe Other Guy) and associate producer Alexandra Cameron (The Clearing, Mother and Son) of Wooden Horse.
The documentary is captured by Torres Strait Islander-born cinematographer Eric Murray Lui (Stan Original Series Black Snow, Top End Wedding) and edited by Karryn de Cinque (High Ground, Slim and I), with original music by Michael Yezersk (Stan Original Series Bali 2002, Mr Inbetween).
Revealed: The Cape is the fifth title in Stan’s landmark documentary slate, following Amongst Us – Neo Nazi Australia, No Mercy, No Remorse, Trafficked and Reefshot. The Stan Original Documentaries have been created in collaboration with award-winning journalists, filmmakers and philanthropists from Australia and around the world, and cements Stan and the 9Network’s collaborative partnership.
