The Summit on Channel 9 – Deep in New Zealand’s Southern Alps, 13 hikers are two days into their epic quest to reach The Summit.

They had one million dollars stuffed in their backpacks, but the loss of Stephen has taken the prize down to $930,000.

The group is entering one of the toughest parts of the trail, a dizzying 3500-foot climb to the snowline.

The oldest hiker, Kitty, has already caught the critical eyes of the group, but the brutal uphill climb will bring new players into focus.

For the group, it’s a constant battle between how long you help people climb before you risk not meeting the 14-day deadline and go home with nothing.

But that’s just the half of it, the group are being stalked and watched by the mysterious mountain’s Keeper.

The strong have been ruling the roost, but the mountain Keeper’s next test will reset the pecking order and trigger a rebellion against them.

And with the checkpoint on the horizon, who will be the first to be voted off the mountain and have their cash stolen?

Meet the 14 trekkers taking part in The Summit:
