Today names Sylvia Jeffreys and Tom Steinfort as new 2027 hosts – Channel 9 has unveiled Sylvia Jeffreys and Tom Steinfort as the new co-hosts of Today for 2027.

The experienced journalists will front the breakfast program after years across 60 Minutes, 9News, Today and Today Extra. They begin on air at 5.30am on Friday 18 September, with Nine signalling further changes to the program’s format, pace and commercial integrations at its 2027 Upfront.

A new era for Today

Nine’s Executive Director of News and Current Affairs, Fiona Dear, said research and audience feedback had informed the appointments. She said viewers want breakfast hosts who are knowledgeable, warm, trustworthy and entertaining.

Jeffreys said she had been part of the Today family for nearly 15 years and was honoured to continue its legacy with Steinfort. Meanwhile, Steinfort said the early starts were a privilege and he was excited to work alongside his fellow broadcaster.
