Recap | Married at First Sight Season 13 Episode 13 – We’ve had a few days to decompress following Wednesday night’s truly diabolical MAFS Dinner Party … but have we?

No, me neither!

We’re not the only ones, with the participants all waking up rather shell-shocked.

Want the official inside scoop on MAFS, unfiltered and unseen? Watch After The Dinner Party here

From “unhinged” to “hard to listen to”, most of the group are feeling empathy for those on the receiving end of some very harsh insults.

One of those people, Alissa, is again in tears.

“I put on a front and I handled it, but I’m not doing that again,” she cries.

EPISODE 12 RECAP: Brook returns unannounced to settle scores in unfiltered Dinner Party rampage

There are also sobs coming from Bec and Danny‘s apartment, as Bec deals with the fallout of Gia claiming Danny told her she was more his type.

This morning, she firmly believes it is a lie, but Danny is hurt by her early suspicions.

Now, Bec’s fury is directed solely at Gia – so yes, their truce lasted no more than a couple of hours.

OK, that’s enough. Let’s get to the Commitment Ceremony couch before anyone has a chance to hurl any more insults!

Alissa and David

Alissa bore the brunt of last night’s hostility and is “pretty disgusted” by the “high school mean girl energy”.

Alissa’s still shaken. (Nine)

Brook shakes her head as she listens, but Bec interrupts with an apology.

“I’m sorry for the way that I spoke to you last night. It wasn’t acceptable, it was mean and I can assure you it won’t happen again,” she says.

Alissa isn’t quick to forgive and admits she’s embarrassed to sit at a table with such negative behaviour.

If there is a positive to take from the mess, it’s that she and David proved just how solid they are.

“You were a real team, you showed real dignity and grace. It was so incredibly impressive,” Mel Schilling praises.

Alissa and David say they are falling for each other and so despite all the outside noise, they are both here to stay.

Mel and Luke

Who are these smiling newbies and what have they done with Mel and Luke?

It wouldn’t have taken much for these two to arrive on the couch in a better place than last week, but they are positively thriving!

Mel took the experts’ advice onboard last week and it’s changed everything.

She’s even feeling pink!

Awwww! (Nine)

They are both down to stay another week, which will see Mel move back into their apartment to hopefully continue building on their connection.

Rebecca and Steve

Rebecca and Steve are in a terrible way, yet they still managed to come tonight in complimentary carrot colours.

Now I’m hungry. (Nine)

Rebecca thinks Steve is too worried about everyone else and hasn’t given the experiment his all.

He disagrees, thinking they have a “personality clash”.

“That’s a cop out,” John Aiken fires back.

He wonders what Steve has done anything to make Rebecca feel desired.

Steve says a lot to essentially say, uh, nothing.

EXCLUSIVE: Alessandra Rampolla reacts after MAFS groom Steve accused her of being fed lines through an earpiece

John asks why he had a disagreement with Alessandra during the intimacy workshop and his answer is so insufficient that Alessandra, who has lost her voice, opens her mouth for the first time all night.

She thinks he has a lot of self-reflection to do, and the fact that she’s saying this with a raspy whisper only makes it hit harder.

Quiet rage is the scariest rage!

EMBARGO 22/2/2026 9PM MAFS 2026 Alessandra
Get him! (Nine)

Not that it matters now, anyway! Rebecca and Steve have both chosen to leave.

Steve apologises to Alessandra and Rebecca wonders where her apology is. Safe to say, she’s not getting it!

Julia and Grayson

These two arrive on the couch fresh off a pash and obviously, they’re hoping for some more – which means they’ve each chosen to stay.

“Here’s to more snogging,” Julia says.

Rachel and Steven.

More kissers!

Steven catches them up on their rollercoaster week and at the end of it, their feelings as stronger than ever. Stay x2, of course!

Gia and Scott

Where to begin? With an apology to the group, Stella, Alissa and David from Gia, thankfully.

She and Scott had their first proper fight during a night out too and Scott’s still concerned because the next morning, Gia said “you don’t like me, you’re here for the wrong reasons and I can get any guy I want”.

It’s her self-sabotage at work and she’s scared to let her walls fully down but ultimately, they really like each other and are here to stay.

Bec and Danny

Despite crying all day, Bec’s tears haven’t stopped.

EMBARGO 22/2/2026 9PM MAFS 2026 Bec
Those are some very impressive tear ducts. (Nine)

Danny’s frustration at Bec for believing Gia’s comment has put their relationship on the rocks.

The group and the experts are amazed that Danny’s managed to make Bec the bad guy in this scenario, prompting Gia to butt in and call him out.

“You know what you said and now you’re trying to cover your arse,” she says.

They’re not getting anywhere as Danny continues to deny it, so Gia suggests a lie detector test.

If only!

Bec says she wouldn’t be able to move past it if it were true, so luckily she’s “not going to believe it”.

They’ve got a lot of work to do to get past this but they’ll get the chance, as they both write stay.

Stella and Filip

The experts commend Stella for how she handled the Dinner Party hostility Filip concurs, saying how Stella talks to people is her “greatest superpower”.

Besides, they’re far too into each other to get caught up in the drama. They’re well on their way to falling in love.

“I feel very mushy, very vulnerable,” she says.

There’s no question of their decisions, obviously!

Brook and Chris

Well, it’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for.

”Where do we start with you two?” John asks.

It’s a fair question. Do we tackle the “stripper boots” jab before the “loser” hand signal? The runaway bride jokes before the insults about Alissa’s hair?

Gosh, so much to cover!

EMBARGO 22/2/2026 9PM MAFS 2026 Brook
Time to face the music. Or not? (Nine)

Brook tells Stella and Alissa she’s “extremely sorry for [her] actions”.

“No one’s perfect, I know I’m definitely not perfect, that’s not who I am,” she says.

EMBARGO 22/2/2026 9PM MAFS 2026
This is going well. (Nine)

As for her and Chris’ relationship, Brook puts them strongly in the friend zone.

He tries to talk around his feelings for her, saying he knows things won’t work between them in the experiment.

“It’s not that it won’t work in here. It’s the fact that it won’t on the outside either Chris,” Brook replies.

“There’s things and actions that Chris has done that I can’t move past.”

EMBARGO 22/2/2026 9PM MAFS 2026 Chris
You can actually pinpoint the moment his heart breaks! (Nine)

Even so, she says she came back to the experiment after feeling guilty for leaving him in the lurch.

Considering she paid him approximately five seconds of attention at the Dinner Party, the experts aren’t buying it.

Mel thinks it’s ironic that she’s so worried about Chris’ audition comments when she spoke to women the way she did.

“To continue doing that for several hours without barely taking a breath, it was relentless,” she says.

Suddenly, Brook declares she needs a toilet break.

But… well, we all know that’s not true don’t we?!

An eternity later, it’s confirmed: Brook’s run away. Again.

EMBARGO 22/2/2026 9PM MAFS 2026 experts
I appreciate that Mel’s pretending we didn’t all see this coming. (Nine)

”It invalidates the entire apology and accountability,” Alessandra whispers. “True colours.”

Chris is done. He too walks out.

EMBARGO 22/2/2026 9PM MAFS 2026 Chris
Goodbye? (Nine)

And just like that, the Commitment Ceremony ends – before Brook can face any consequences or hear a pearl of John’s, Mel’s or whispering Alessandra’s wisdom.

Tomorrow night, we’re set to be reminded what the show is about (besides screaming at Dinner Parties. obviously) … love!

Dust off your heels, it’s Intruder Wedding time.
