Recap | Married at First Sight Season 12 Episode 34 – the latest episode recap on TV Central from Channel 9. Watch the show on 9Now.

It’s the final week of the Season 12 experiment and our couples have a very big decision ahead of them.

And I’m not just talking about their Final Vows. Buckle up, there is chaos afoot!

Stream every episode of Married At First Sight for free on 9Now

The group are not aware of any impending storm just yet, so many are still innocently excited about the week to come. Rhi and Jeff are typically great, Awhina and Adrian are feeling hopeful and Jamie has actually started to believe Dave when he says he wants to be with her.

Carina and Paul are also thriving, so their morning is spent talking about how sad they are for those who are not.

Down the hall, Beth is very dejected after Teejay confirmed he did not have romantic feelings for her on the couch.Play Video

Speaking of dejection… Jacqui’s been doing some reflecting.

“I thought that the feedback I was giving [Ryan] was for the better of both of us… I’m working on improving – it’s like me renovating the home because I want to live there in the future,” she says.

“But maybe he’s just a chair and I wanted him to be a door, and maybe the chair just needs comforting right now.”

However, the chair himself is not interested in hearing about renovations ever again.

Unfortunately for him, his peaceful bowl of cereal is about to be interrupted.

Jacqui offers him a tearful apology, saying he is one of the greatest humans (not chairs) she’s ever met.

Ryan appreciates it but it’s also too late. She wants him to give her actionable ways to show that she does accept him and he doesn’t think that’s really his job.

She’s disappointed and now stuck on what to do, as not even Google can help her.Play Video

Final Vows are just days away – but the experiment has one more major surprise up its sleeve.

It’s Final Test Week.

Dun, dun, dunnnnnnnn.

The couples are separated and the experts explain the Final Task – which gives each participants the opportunity to meet with someone else they were almost matched with.

Do they want to see if the grass could’ve been greener with someone else, or are they happy enough with their partner to give this a miss?

WHAT. THE. HECK.

WILD.

MAFS 2025 Episode 34
Carina’s face just about sums it up. (Nine)

Rhi and Jeff each make very quick, decisive decisions not to do it because well, they’re just bloody perfect aren’t they?

Jeff says risking his relationship for a ‘what if’ would make him “the dumbest person in the world”.

And… uh… He probably should’ve sent that in a group chat, because there are others who definitely needed to hear it.Play Video

Rhi and Jeff decide whether or not they will do the Final Task

Darling Beth is up for it, because Teejay wrote ‘leave’ at the Commitment Ceremony anyway. And yes, of course Teejay is keen too.

EXCLUSIVE: Beth reacts to husband Teejay’s ‘devastating’ final Commitment Ceremony decision: ‘It was horrible’

But the biggest shock is Carina and Paul. She’s unsure about what the day may bring, theorising that the task could result in a declaration of love.

I don’t think that will be the case.

Carina labels the task “borderline cheating”, so she won’t be going. She also doesn’t think Paul would be “idiotic” enough to go either.

Oh dear.

“Yeah, I reckon I’ll go and meet that person,” Paul decides.Play Video

Carina and Paul have very different approaches to the Final Task

Beth meets up with Oisin, a personal trainer from Sydney who most importantly has an Irish accent.

They bond over banter and get pretty flirty, but Beth admits Teejay is still on her mind.

Teejay’s almost match is Tara, and he immediately ticks all her boxes because he was born in April.

It’s clear that while Beth is thinking about him, he is absolutely not thinking about her.

Later they debrief and Beth is honest about not feeling a connection, while Teejay is a lot less tactful.

READ MORE: MAFS’ Teejay reveals the one question he found most ‘confronting’ after telling Beth that he wanted to leave the experiment

“I think when the conversations easy it’s always going to be a nice time,” he says, rattling off a long list of things he and Tara bonded over.Play Video

Beth and Teejay hit it off with their alternative matches

“I enjoyed my time, no doubt about it.”

He was hoping the task would push him “to or from” Beth, but it left him stuck in neutral.

It’s not what Beth wanted to hear and she decides it’s time to stop holding out for someone who doesn’t want her.Play Video

Beth is underwhelmed by her reunion with husband Teejay

Rhi and Jeff are happy that neither of them underwent the challenge.

It’s been just another day in paradise for them, but they predict some spicy repercussions for other pairs.

……Like Carina and Paul, perhaps.

While Carina is in their apartment practicing ‘I love yous’ and folding Paul’s undies, he is in a very spacious bar space waiting for his date.

“I like Carina so much, we are in such a good place,” he says, but then comes the but.

“But I do have a few seeds of doubts, I guess we could call them. They’re not huge doubts but there’s still a few things here and there.”

So he’s taking those doubts and pouring gasoline on them, with a delightful woman named Hannah.

After some small talk, Hannah asks why it didn’t work out with Paul and his wife.

Oh-

Now that’s awkward.

Paul’s date is not exactly going to plan. (Nine)

”Everything is working really well with my wife,” Paul says, explaining how he’s so happy and fulfilled.

Hannah wants to know if that’s the case, why the bloody hell is he here?

Paul’s date Hannah hits him with the tough questions

Curiosity got the better of him, he says. It doesn’t fly with Hannah and it’s definitely not going to fly with Carina.

The more Hannah side-eyes him, the more this seems to sink in. After they say goodbye, he’s filled with regret and deems his previously ‘normal’ curiosity “stupid”.

I hope he’s spent his car ride home drafting a notes app apology.

This grape and his pride will be the last things Paul swallows as he grovels back to Carina. (Nine)

When Paul returns home, he really turns up the charm.

”Baby,” he greets her smothering her in hugs and kisses. We can only assume it’s damage control for what’s about to come.

Carina is in his arms when he tells her he went, speaking a million miles an hour about how bad it was and how he wanted to run away as she physically recoils.

MAFS 2025
No Carina, Paul does not have good news. (Nine)

He keeps talking and talking and talking and OH MY GOD, HOW DO YOU SAY SHUT UP IN FRENCH?

Carina is très pissed.

She runs out of the apartment and he follows her, as she tells him he seriously “f–ked up”.

“That’s like cheating, you actually just cheated,” she tells him.

Paul doesn’t agree, continuing to say he wish he hadn’t gone and he did not like Hannah at all.

“When I was there, I was so embarrassed,” he says.Play Video

Paul tells Carina that he went on a date with another woman

“I’m actually so much better than this,” Carina yells, storming out again.

She eventually heads back into their apartment to either pack her things or kick Paul out, resulting in another screaming match.

EXCLUSIVE: Evelyn and Duncan lose it over groom’s bizarre one-word catchphrase as disaster strikes two marriages

“You were just thinking about yourself,” she schools him.

“I really didn’t think you were going to do it, we were doing so well,” she continues.

She doesn’t want to hear any of his excuses or explanation, declaring herself done.

“I am so ready to go home without you,” she tells him, slamming the door as she barricades herself in their bedroom.Play Video

Carina declares she’s ‘done’ after Paul went on a date with another woman

Tomorrow night, the Final Task continues – and judging by tonight, that is not something you want to miss!
