The group are still trying to wrap their heads around the ginormous cracks that have emerged as well.
But it’s not just them on shaky ground. Carina and Paul, are struggling to move past him telling Awhina that Carina had made a negative comment about Awhina’s twin after learning she had history with Paul.
It’s been 12 hours and they’re still having the same conversation with no resolution in sight. We need John Aiken on this, pronto!
However, things could be worse!
“It’s obvious that my wife hates me,” Eliot says.
See?
This makes his choice tonight pretty clear, but down the hall another bride is unsure if she’ll even bother attending.
Dave promised Jamie he’d prove he wanted to make their relationship work, and it gets off to a good start as he knocks on her door.
And then he opens his mouth.
“Last night you did speak to me probably the worst you’ve spoken to me throughout this experiment,” he says.
Jamie cannot help but facepalm.
He was supposed to fight for her and this is definitely not that. She packs up his stuff and throws it out the door.
“I am not f–king writing ‘stay’ tonight. There’s no chance. He’s an absolute f–king liar,” Jamie declares to cameras.Play Video
Jamie and Dave’s attempt to resolve things ends in a storm-out
Will Jamie have a change of heart?
Later, it’s Commitment Ceremony time and there are no late dramatic entrances to be had this week, as Jamie arrives in line with the other brides.

Let’s go!
Awhina and Adrian
We didn’t get to see Awhina and Adrian’s honesty letters, but reading them out to each other has done wonders this week.
They both felt a disconnect and the letters helped them pinpoint where it came from.
“We recognised that we stopped asking questions, so now it’s asking questions and meaning it. We’re both being curious about each other again,” Awhina explains.
Most importantly, it feels easy again, just like their decision. ‘Stay’ x2!
Veronica and Eliot
Veronica says when she talks to Eliot, he takes jabs at her and baits her into confrontation. Then they argue about if something is red or blue and by the end of it she’s “literally lost [her] mind”.
”Like, I don’t know what’s going on here,” she says.
And neither do we!
Eliot says she is blatantly lying and is the one doing the baiting.
Adrian agrees. From the crowd, he tells Veronica she presents as a completely different person on the couch than at the Couples Retreat and they can’t believe a word she’s saying.
Rhi, who spent the Partner Swap with Eliot, says she had a nice time playing cards and listening to music.
Veronica thinks it would’ve been nice for him to teach her card games as well, and Eliot is completely shook because he offered to do just that.
John says all he knows is that somebody is lying.
He says Veronica speaks to Eliot with disdain in her voice, which is in line with Eliot’s thinking that she hates his guts.
“I don’t hate you, despite what you might think,” she says in a way that does little to change his mind.Play Video
The experts say ‘someone is lying’ as Veronica and Eliot take to the couch
It’s clear that there is no chance of them ever moving on from this, so both Veronica and Eliot write ‘leave’.
John commends Eliot on so much self-development since they first met him, and he agrees he is leaving a different man to the one who met Lauren way back on his (first) wedding day.
Jacqui and Ryan
John starts by asking Ryan what he learned from Feedback Week, and I don’t think the expert was expecting his answer: “She came in after the task and said, ‘Ryan, how do you feel about being a stay-at-home dad?'”
As we know, this suggestion offends Ryan. And in turn, his reaction offends a lot of other people.
Jacqui is frustrated at his lack of compromise, once again questioning what he’d do if she was in a coma.
Ryan concedes that he could be a little more open-minded and flexible and Jacqui is pleased, because “feedback’s a gift”.
Unfortunately for her, Ryan doesn’t feel like that’s always the case. Especially when said feedback is a two-and-a-half page letter mostly about his flaws.
”Sometimes I do feel on trial for being myself… I feel inadequate sometimes. I feel like I don’t measure up,” he says, getting emotional.Play Video

But despite the absolute sledging, he appreciated her letter for reminding him to be vulnerable and she appreciates him at least trying to reach her high standards.
Also, Ryan cooks her eggs now because Jeff cooked her eggs.
No doubt scrambled is on the menu tomorrow morning, because they have written ‘stay’.
Beth and Teejay
These two have had a tough week after Beth confessed in her honesty letter than she thought Teejay wasn’t attracted to her.
Their physical intimacy hasn’t progressed, but Teejay says that’s because he’s looking to build a strong emotional connection first.
He is physically attracted to her though, which the experts encourage him to show her more.Play Video
Beth and Teejay unpack their intimacy issues
Alessandra wants them to make-out more. Like, with tongue.
Pop on your lip gloss, because both of them have written ‘stay’.
Rhi and Jeff
These two try to avoid outright saying the Partner Swap made them grateful to be in a normal, healthy relationship… unlike their pairs.
But alas, we all know that’s exactly what they mean.
They’re keen to see what the future holds outside of the experiment, but of course they’ll have to wait a few more weeks more than to begin because they’re sticking around!

A groom is emotional as he is called out while one couple say goodbye.
Carina and Paul
Paul catches the experts up on snobgate. Yes, using the word snob to describe his wife Carina.
After telling Carina he once had a fling with Awhina’s twin sister Cleo, Carina scathingly replied that she “didn’t think you would go for that calibre”.
Having apologised and received Awhina’s forgiveness, Carina tells the experts she is still upset that Paul chose to share what she said during a private conversation with Awhina in the first place.
“I feel like I can’t fully trust him right now,” she admits.
Alessandra is also confused by his actions, saying “there seems to be a sensitivity chip missing”.Play Video
The experts call out Paul for being ‘untrustworthy’
He’s taken back by this but John agrees:
“You’re lacking emotional intelligence. You’re not reading the room.”
Carina is now questioning their compatibility, which Paul didn’t expect to hear.
He apologises and concedes he has things to work on.
He’ll be able to do that within the experiment because they both want to ‘stay’.
Jamie and Dave
Last up are Jamie and Dave, who have never had anything but good things to say about their relationship during past couch sessions.
This time is obviously very different.
Jamie shares that after feeling doubt about Dave’s attraction to her following concerns that he doesn’t initiate intimacy, Dave did nothing to reassure her that wasn’t the case.

Dave is pushed to reveal the truth behind his sudden change in feelings for Jamie
Dave said her questioning him got his walls up and he started to feel not good enough, which Jamie points out is once again not reassuring her at all.
“That’s when I needed you to show up for me, and you didn’t,” she tells him.
Mel says the experts were surprised by their breakdown because Dave had never expressed any of his concerns during a previous Commitment Ceremony.
As he tries to explain the reasons he hasn’t ‘showed up’ in the way she’d like, the experts ask him point blank: does he have romantic feelings?
“I think I do,” he answers.
Eeeeeeek. Not “I think“.
John coaches him to say exactly how he thinks Jamie is feeling right now, which boils down to ‘not great’.
Dave doesn’t like the person he has been recently. He shutdown out of fear following Jamie saying she loved him, and he needs to figure out how to get out of his own head.Play Video
Jamie gives Dave an ultimatum
Like, pronto.
He apologises to Jamie, revealing his decision to ‘stay’ to make it up to her.
Jamie is sick of crying and still doesn’t believe he’s not just saying what she wants to hear, but she has put her all into this relationship and she’s determined to see it through. So, she’s written ‘stay’ as well.
He promises to woo her and she’s ready to receive it… with her guard up, for now.
Tomorrow night, it’s the beginning of Homestays Week and it looks like he’s going to need to convince not just Jamie, but her protective sister as well.
Tune in to see it all go down!
