Recap | Married at First Sight Season 12 Episode 24 – the latest episode recap on TV Central from Channel 9. Watch the show on 9Now.
Come in, join us – it’s Dinner Party Wednesday!
With the couples back from a very explosive Couples Retreat in Byron Bay, there is a lot to unpack.
But for some, the chaos has actually brought about… positivity.
The retreat has done wonders for Awhina and Adrian, who are better than ever, and Jacqui and Ryan, who aren’t letting Ryan’s odd testosterone-related choices get in the way of a good time. Except in the mornings before the gym.

But while Ryan isn’t having issues with his wife, he has earned the ire of another bride. Beth is not super stoked about him calling her “classless” at the retreat and then running to Teejay to dob her in.
There are also tensions to be unpacked between Jamie, Carina and Rhi, after they were more neutral than Jamie would have liked when she confronted Lauren and Clint.
Turns out that trio will be left to hash it out on their own, because the couple at the centre of all the drama is skipping the Dinner Party altogether.
”We are not interested in spending another minute of our life in a room with them,” Lauren says.
Looks like she has no regrets for branding them “feral bogans” over at the Couples Retreat, eh!
In an experiment first, she and Clint decide to boycott the Dinner Party and host one of their own at home.

Lauren and Clint boycott the MAFS Dinner Party
While Clint feels a spark and is looking forward to the night in, Lauren yet again insists they’re “good friends”… with absolutely no spark.
Perhaps one can finally grow over their menu of oysters, caviar and gloating about how they’re better than the others.

Cocktail Hour
As the happy couples arrive, Beth is quick to confront Ryan about his “classless” comment.
She asks why he went to Teejay about her actions, and then apologised to him but not to her.
After dancing around it, Ryan apologises and Beth returns with an apology for her “vulgar” words too.
“I forgive you totally by the way,” Jacqui butts in, which is great news but also not a concern Beth had at all.Play Video

Both Rhi and Carina are anxious about what the night will bring, aware that Jamie is not happy with them right now.
”Jamie makes valid points, it just the way she projects it is offensive,” Rhi says, as she and Carina bond over feeling stuck in the middle of everything.
EXCLUSIVE: MAFS’ Rhi reacts after shocking truth about co-star plays out on-screen: ‘Are you for real?’
Carina and Rhi each politely greet Jamie as she and Dave arrive, but Jamie’s not really into the fake niceties.
“Where’s my apology? You don’t just get to schmooze me over, and I hate when people think they can do that,” she reacts.
Everyone’s waiting around for the final couple to arrive when… ding ding, dinner is served.
The group cannot believe that Lauren and Clint haven’t turned up, which is going to make holding them accountable rather difficult.
Meanwhile, they simply clink glasses in their apartment and insult everyone while salting their food. Who says romance is dead. that really is the Dinner Party spirit.
Dinner Party
Jamie kicks things off immediately as she sarcastically asks a very confused Jeff: “Where’s your mate?”
She’s of course referring to Lauren in the sassiest way possible.
“We’re friends with everyone,” Carina speaks up.
Jamie is dumbfounded by this: “Did I miss the part when you came to my defence? I must’ve clocked off for the day because I missed it,” she shoots back.Play Video

She tells the whole table that she may be “a tough b—h”, but she’s also sensitive and was hurt by their silence while she stood up to Lauren and Clint on all of their behalves.
“That broke me. I haven’t felt pain like that in a really f–king long time,” she says, claiming that Carina and Rhi instead ‘backed Lauren’.
Carina repeats that Lauren was ambushed on the Girls Night, saying the behaviour was “like mean girls”.
“WHO ARE YOU CALLING A MEAN GIRL?” Jamie bites back.
Carina stands by her claim and says she now feels how Lauren would’ve in that moment.
While Awhina also questions being called a mean girl, Carina feels defeated. She feels like Jamie is just shutting her down and refusing to hear her out.
So, Carina does not plan on apologising – the thing Jamie is after the most.Play Video
Carina claims Girls Night was ‘giving mean girls’
The experts find themselves agreeing with Carina, especially as Dave says tonight was all about he and Jamie finding out “who is with us and who isn’t”.
Carina continues to defend herself and the experts let out a chorus of “oooohs” as Jamie yells “Carina, shut your mouth”.
Yikes!
Things are quieter in Lauren and Clint’s apartment, where it seems when they aren’t talking about Jamie. Their only topic of conversation is how good their fish is.
Across town, Jamie and Carina are only broken up by a new person yelling: Veronica.
Bad idea, because at this point Jamie is taking no prisoners.
“You slag your husband off to anyone who will f–king listen and that is why you’ll protect Lauren,” she yells.
Jamie mentions Veronica going to Lauren for details about Eliot.
At first, Veronica denies that… but ya know, this is a TV show. There is footage.
Veronica admits it but then claims Lauren was playing devil’s advocate in Eliot’s defence.
Unfortunately for her, he’s not silly. He knows there is quite literally nothing less likely to happen on this earth than that.Play Video

It’s time for the good news portion of the night!
Awhina and Adrian are in a damn good place and everyone laughs at Awhina making a testosterone joke. Even Ryan, who thinks it’s hilarious and not at all embarrassing.
Okay, it’s Rhi’s turn to face Jamie.
She apologises for not standing up for her in that moment, but want to make it clear she had never once validated Lauren’s behaviour.
“Bingo, thank you,” Jamie reacts, bringing at least one feud to an end tonight. Although she’s not willing “to put it to bed” with Carina as well.Play Video

From the experts room, Mel points out that it’s sad to watch a friendship blow up due to a person who didn’t even bother to show up tonight.

Meanwhile, Carina sobs in the hallway.
She doesn’t feel like she can hold her own against Jamie, and she’s devastated at the night going this way.
Will they be able to patch things up with the experts help?
We’ll have to tune in to the Commitment Ceremony, 7pm on Sunday, to find out.
