It’s also move in day for the newbies, whose honeymoon phase is about to be burst by a MAFS crash course of Photo Rankings and Confessions Letters.
Beth and Teejay celebrate with a dance.
“Don’t drop me,” Beth says.
Nearby, poor Ryan’s ears are burning.
But before a pesky envelope full of the other brides’ and grooms’ faces can even be slipped under the door, Lauren and Clint‘s bubble goes POP.
Because, uh, Clint likes doing washing, which Lauren considers a “girl’s job”. She would like to fight him on that, in a feminine way of course.
Last night, Sierah and Billy chose to leave the experiment. So why is he loudly knocking on Jamie and Dave‘s apartment door? MAFS hasn’t dabbled in trouples yet, Billy! Maybe next year!
He’s actually just dropping off his fish children, who he’s hoping they will adopt.
MAFS EP 17 RECAP: Adrian cops a serve from the experts as one bride backflips on her decision to leave
Jamie is concerned about becoming a fish murderer, but Dave is willing to be not just a stepdad, but the dad who stepped up.
Awhina and Adrian are still living separately, but he’s gone to ask her if she’s willing to put in the effort if he does.
“It takes two to tango,” he reckons.
“I know, because I’ve been tangoing on my own for the past four weeks,” Awhina reacts to the camera.
EXCLUSIVE: Billy reveals the one thing he ‘struggled’ with most as he officially leaves MAFS 2025
She still can’t believe that he hasn’t arrived with a sincere apology and is really struggling to see a way forward.
What better time to welcome guests then, hey?
Rhi and Jeff meet up with her family and his friends and it’s one big lovefest.
Jeff gets Rhi’s mum’s tick-of-approval, and with that part out of the way, it’s time to gossip about Jacqui and Ryan.Play Video
Rhi and Jeff catch up with their families
Speaking of those two, they’re very excited for a visit with their respective besties.
Unfortunately, it takes about 30 seconds for someone to mention… the drop.
His friends think Ryan redeemed himself well afterwards, but we know Jacqui does not agree.
Jacqui says she cried, Ryan says she often cries and Jacqui’s friends say that is what makes her so special.
Ryan gives the group a lowlights reel, highlighting Jake’s “crazy eyes” quip and even his own inappropriate workshop comments, WORD-FOR-WORD.
Yep, the one about… well, the one not PG enough to write down.
After letting Ryan’s “goose moment” wash over them, each of their friends explain what they think both Jacqui and Ryan need in a relationship.
Miraculously, it works. The lunch ends with Jacqui and Ryan feeling closer than ever.Play Video

Veronica has decided she would like to learn more about Eliot, from someone who spent a whole two days with him.
She and her margaritas knock on Lauren’s door, looking for her side of the story.
Lauren really, really does not hold back and it leaves Veronica confused and disheartened about her marriage.Play Video
Lauren warns Veronica about Eliot’s character
So…. there is no better time for the return of everyone’s favourite potential relationship-ruiner, the Photo Ranking Challenge.
Beth and Teejay pass with flying colours AND a Borat impersonation!
Lauren has much to say about Clint’s ranking, particularly about him saying he is physically attracted to Jacqui.
“I’ve learned that he likes scruffy women who have a strong drive in career,” she reacts.
Ouch.
Her own ranking features some very brutal feedback, but thankfully they each rank each other first.Play Video
Lauren and Clint do the Photo Ranking Challenge
Eliot does his ranking and unlike Lauren, who put him dead last with some choice words as to why, he’s decided to focus solely on his physical attraction – which includes placing Lauren towards the top.
Somewhere, watching on, she just shuttered.
Eliot places Veronica first, but she’s disappointed by how little insight he gave into his thought process.
Meanwhile, her ranking is all about how attractive she finds various men’s emotional availability. So, she ranks Eliot third.
Uh oh.
He says he’s not upset, with a totally chill hand through his hair to prove it.
Lauren and Clint then watch each other’s audition tapes, where they each start to see some red flags off in the distance.
In her tape, Lauren says she would hate a man who isn’t successful, ideally with $1 million earnings and a love of European holidays.
EXCLUSIVE: Eliot reveals his real list of non-negotiables in his unseen audition tape
But mostly, she’d like an “alpha male”, which she doesn’t think Clint is because he shaves his chest and got a spray tan.Play Video

Awhina and Adrian are next up for Family and Friends Week and Awhina is definitely apprehensive.
His twin sisters Elita and Nikola say they’re the type of family who will back each other up no matter what, and they immediately launch into a grilling of Awhina.
It is soon broken up by the arrival of her twin, Cleo, who is all caught up on Adrian’s recent behaviour and thinks her sister deserves better.
Awhina explains how she doesn’t feel seen, and Adrian’s family immediately ask what she’s also doing to cause their problems.
They think she’s focusing too much on the negatives, which has Cleo leaping to her sister’s defense.
To illustrate her point, Awhina says one of the experiment’s new participants have asked her more about her life and son in just a few days than Adrian has since their wedding.
But Adrian had purposefully not been asking her about her son, because she’d told him on their honeymoon that she would open up about him when she’s ready.
Awhina says she has been bringing him up recently, prompting his friend Jasmin to say “you would hope so”.
Cleo takes this as a slight on Awhina’s parenting and tells her sister she deserves better.
Things erupt. Cleo is enraged.
“How f–king dare you,” she rages.
“They are not good enough to be in my life, he is definitely not good enough to be in my nephew’s life,” Cleo screams, before pointing at Adrian adding: “I’ll never, ever, EVER let him meet my nephew.”
“We don’t like people who are this aggressive,” one of Adrian’s sisters say, before the trio decide to leave.Play Video
Awhina and Adrian’s family meet-up ends in an explosive storm-out
Adrian follows them out, as Awhina tells him to leave their apartment once again.
“Happily,” he says with a smirk.
One sister returns to try and have a less heightened conversation and it does not work in the slightest.
“There’s no reasoning with unreasonable people,” she says, walking out for the second time.
Awhina says she is not going to tolerate this behaviour anymore. As she debriefs with Cleo, Adrian says he is embarrassed.Play Video
Awhina breaks down to her twin sister Cleo
By what? Awhina and Cleo, apparently.
He and his group hash it out outside, reacting that Adrian taking time away from his job and dog is just like Awhina being away from her son.
While Nikola states you can’t polish a turd, Elita comes to the conclusion that “you can put a ribbon on a garbage bin, but it’s still trash”.
Yikes.
Tomorrow night, Family and Friends Week continues – and we hope for our couples’ sake that things go a lot smoother than tonight.
Married At First Sight airs Sunday at 7pm and Monday to Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.Play Video
