New report supports Government’s streaming reinvestment obligation as a win-win-win – Screen Producers Australia (SPA) today released data taken from a Roy Morgan report recently commissioned by Australian Made that identifies Australians’ desire for more Australian content on their screens and a need for easier discoverability of Australian shows.
Key findings including ‘89% of Australians want to see more Australian Made media content’, validate SPA’s ongoing advocacy for more investment in Australian programs and for easier access so that Australian stories can be both available and easily found on screens, regardless of platform.
SPA has also facilitated an address to the National Press Club of Australia, where Australian icon Bryan Brown will discuss the stability and sustainability of Australia’s bold and unique screen industry on Wednesday, 12 July with the address commencing at 12.30pm AEST . Link to event HERE.

As we await an announcement of the Australian Government’s policy on regulation of streaming platforms and, importantly, their future investment in Australian films and tv programs, Bryan’s speech will highlight the importance of Australian screen stories.
