Stef and her family have brought a rich clock-making tradition from Germany’s Black Forest to Australia, showcasing an impressive collection of cuckoo clocks dating from the 17th century.
The family, Australia’s largest importer of these unique timepieces, restores them on-site, blending historical craftsmanship with modern care.
Typifying the beauty of the Scenic Rim is the blossoming Elderflower Farm. Passionate about beautiful, heirloom flowers, Rachel Watkins and husband Fred made the transition from horse training and cattle mustering to picking and pruning. Rachel’s backyard garden was soon transformed into beautiful rows of blooms and the bouquet business flourished.
In celebration of the Scenic Rim’s high-quality local produce, we meet Brenda Fawdon, the visionary behind Picnic Real Food Bar. Unapologetically creative, Brenda masterfully combines food and community in a vibrant, sustainable space. Her dedication to local growers and the beauty of the region has been the impetus for creating a delightful escape in the Gold Coast Hinterland with a menu presenting seasonal produce.
