Merrick Watts will not be returning to SAS Australia he confirms to Fifi Fev & Nick – This morning on Melbourne’s #1 FM Breakfast show, The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick, Merrick Watts joined the show to set the record straight regarding recent reports he would be joining SAS Australia as a co-host alongside Ant Middleton.
Watts categorically denied the reports, stating: “I don’t have the job, it’s not true!” Despite multiple media outlets appearing to confirm his involvement in the upcoming season, Watts clarified that there’s no truth to the speculation.
Watts, who was a standout contestant on the debut season of SAS Australia in 2020, where he became one of only three contestants to pass the gruelling SAS course, made it clear that fans shouldn’t expect him to return to the show anytime soon, saying: “It’s unfounded, untrue. I won’t be returning to SAS Australia.”
Despite his runaway success as a contestant, it appears fans won’t be seeing Merrick Watts reappear on SAS Australia any time soon.

“A few people have asked me, but this is the first time I’ve spoken to the media about it because the media didn’t bother to ask me about it at all. They just went and wrote it, and I read it, and I was like, ‘That’s interesting, I didn’t know that. So that’s news to me.’
Merrick:
“I don’t have the job; it’s not true.”
Fifi:
“Is it even an option? Have you been talked to about it by Channel 7?”
Merrick:
“No, no. Not only have I not been spoken to about it, no one has been spoken to about it. It’s never come up. I don’t know how this came about. I barely made it through as a recruit; I don’t think I’m in a position now to become a teacher about it.”
Merrick:
“It’s unfounded, untrue. I won’t be returning to SAS Australia.”
