May on Optus Sport – It’s the business end of the season on Optus Sport in May, as the end-of-season trophies start to get handed out in the Premier League and the Women’s Super League.
The month kicks off with two struggling members of the Premier League’s ‘Big Six’ still hoping they can sneak into the top four as Liverpool host Tottenham at Anfield on Monday, 1 May at 1.30am.
That’s followed up by a huge London derby 48 hours later as Arsenal host rivals Chelsea as their title chase hits its most crucial moment.
Chelsea will end up having a big say in who lifts the Premier League title come the end of the month as they also take on the other team in the title race, Manchester City, on 22 May.
In fact, the Blues face every member of the current top four in May, with their final two games of the season against Manchester United (26 May) and Newcastle United (29 May).
Monday 29 May will be a must-watch for all football fans with the final round of Premier League fixtures all kicking off at the same time, meaning viewers will be able to choose between all 10 games being simultaneously broadcast – or watch all of the goals go in as they happen on Goal Rush.
27 May is the date to note for our Aussies in the Women’s Super League, as we find out who will lift the title in this gripping four-horse race at the top.
Will it be Sam Kerr and Chelsea again or will Steph Catley and Caitlin Foord see Arsenal reclaim the title? The Matildas trio at Manchester City will be hoping they can cause an upset too as all three clubs chase leaders Manchester United at the top of the tree.
Optus Sport won’t miss a moment of it, with fixtures hosted live from our studio in Sydney and expert pundits giving their analysis in the run-up to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 in Australia and New Zealand later this year.
Over in LaLiga, there are some massive fixtures to look out for in May as Barcelona look to close out a 27th Spanish league title over Real Madrid, but they will have to negotiate a few tricky fixtures – including a Catalan derby against Espanyol – to do so.
It’s going to be a huge month of football on Optus Sport. You wouldn’t want to miss it.
