The Larkins on ABC – Pop has had a court summons, but is in denial about the seriousness of his situation. Ma wises him up, in between playing Cupid by inviting Rev Candy to supper with Primrose.
The romantic dinner a deux goes well and romance seems to be moving in the right direction, but why does he want to keep their love a secret?
Pop finds his old friend Fruity Pears setting up his fairground on the village green. It’s a bad time for old-school entertainment (too much telly) so Pop determinedly rounds up oddball locals. Yet the fair remains empty apart from a few teddy boy thugs causing trouble, until driven off by Edith Pilchester. Ma is concerned about the court summons she’s found, fearing Pop will end the summer in prison.
