Love Me on ABC and ABC iview S2E4 – Glen, Clara and Aaron Mathieson have picked up the pieces of their complex lives following Christine’s death and are each grappling with a new reality that poses the challenging question – is love enough?
Glen and Anita are faced with the arrival of someone from her past who will threaten their current happiness and security; Clara must come to terms with becoming a step parent to Peter’s son as well as the very real prospect that her hopes of having a family of her own may never be realised; and Aaron’s attempts to juggle fatherhood, Ella and his love for Jesse send him into a spiral of self doubt and erratic behaviour.
Together, however, the Mathiesons will weather the storm of uncertainty as they always do, with humour, misunderstandings, humility, champagne and of course… a deep and bonding love.
Episode 4
Aaron struggles to adapt to his new life and responsibilities.
When Peter gets the results of the paternity test and finds out that Max is definitely his son he opens back up to Clara. Thinking that this will resolve the problems he and Clara have been having, but for Clara it just reinforces that Peter retreats at the first sign of trouble.
Fed up with the tenuous situation Richard has put them in, Anita and Glen go to his office to confront him.
Clara finds solace in a good-looking man from the conference but it ends up a confession about her life and choices. And just as she’s about to make an alcohol fuelled bad decision, Sacha swoops in to save her.
Back at home, drunk and raiding the kitchen Clara and Peter confront each other about their relationship.
At a family catch up, Glen announces he is selling the house. Aaron’s world is shaken, if they sell the family home, he’ll have nowhere to live. Anita is increasingly uncomfortable with the conversation and all the decisions Glen is making for her.
Out for a special dinner Clara and Peter can barely converse. Peter is a distracted mess, but not for the reasons Clara thinks. Things don’t go according to plan and they leave separately.
