The format gives each contestant a chance to turn a particular passion into an advantage. This week’s subjects stretch from fiction and music to animals and transport, so the knowledge on display will be anything but uniform.
Meet the young experts
Liora is ready for questions about The Hunger Games, while Joe’s chosen subject is country musician Lee Kernaghan. Olive brings her interest in ball pythons, and Ryder has mapped out the London Underground. The four contestants are part of a new class of 10- to 13-year-olds taking on Gleeson’s questions.
A new champion to crown
Gleeson returns with the show’s Big Brass Mug as the prize. Each child knows a chosen subject deeply, but winning will require them to hold their nerve as the contest moves between their own areas of expertise and the broader quiz. The episode ends with one of the four claiming the title of Hard Quiz Kids champion.
