Death Valley continues tonight on ABC as Detective Sergeant Janie Mallowan investigates the apparent suicide of property developer Carwyn Rees.
The case brings Janie together with John Chapel, the retired actor who played her television detective idol, Inspector Charles Caesar. The pair begin to suspect that the death is part of a more complicated murder plot.
The episode builds its mystery around blackmail, revenge and a second unanswered question: who was the victim really? Janie’s defence of a suspect also reveals more about her own past.
Death Valley airs Friday 18 September at 8.20pm on ABC and ABC iview.
