Laugh out loud in 2026: Comedy classics and new favourites coming to the ABC – In 2026, the ABC is serving up a comedy lineup for every taste, from beloved fan favourites to fresh voices from Australia and beyond.

Audiences can revisit beloved classics like Kath & Kim and Young Sheldon, while also discovering new scripted and entertainment series including Bad Company, Ground Up and Urzila. Family-friendly laughs are also on the way with Caper Crew and Do Not Watch This Show Season 2, all coming later in 2026.

To keep the laughs going we have Australian premieres of New Zealand Spy, Can You Keep A Secret?, Small Town Scandal, Twenty Twenty Six and ABC premieres of Top End Bub and Koala Man.

Whether you’re in the mood for nostalgia, sharp new satire, or family-friendly fun, there’s something to keep everyone laughing on ABC TV and ABC iview.

Program Highlights Include:

Kath & Kim

It’s Australian nostalgia at its best with the saying ‘look at moi’ now a part of the vernacular. Take a trip down memory lane now on ABC iview and Saturdays from 7 February at 6pm on ABC TV.

Koala Man

This adults-only animated comedy from Michael Cusack (Ciggy Butt Brain) follows Kevin Williams, an unremarkable middle‑aged family man who takes it upon himself to dispense justice in the town of Dapto as the spectacularly average superhero Koala Man. Armed with no superpowers and little more than a basic costume, Kevin faces off against a colourful cast of would‑be villains determined to wreak havoc on his hometown. Featuring the voices of Sarah Snook, Hugh Jackman and Jermaine Clement, Koala Man premieres Sunday 1 March on ABC iview.

Top End Bub

Picking up from where smash-hit film Top End Wedding left off, when a privileged Eastern Suburbs lawyer is sent to Darwin to handle a case involving a young Indigenous woman, her carefully ordered life unravels. Starring Miranda Tapsell, Top End Bub premieres Saturday 7 March at 8.30pm on ABC TV and ABC iview.

Can You Keep A Secret?

When a GP mistakenly declares her husband dead, she seizes the chance to keep the insurance payout and convinces him to stay hidden. As family members close in, including a police-officer daughter-in-law, the lie escalates into a high-stakes farce about love, loyalty and moral compromise. Starring Dawn French, Can You Keep A Secret? premieres Sunday 15 March at 8.25pm on ABC TV and ABC iview.

Young Sheldon

Follows the childhood trials and tribulation of The Big Bang Theory genius Sheldon Cooper as he skips primary school classrooms to start high school as a nine-year-old. Starring Iain Armitage, Young Sheldonpremieres Friday 27 March on ABC iview and 8pm Mondays-Thursdays on ABC Family.

Small Town Scandal

After his millionaire uncle is mysteriously killed by an automated lawnmower, failed journalist Toby Buchanan spots a shot at redemption. When police rule it a heart attack, a suspicious voicemail pushes Toby to launch a true-crime podcast, uncovering secrets in a rural New Zealand town that doesn’t want the truth exposed. Starring creator Tom Sainsbury, Rose Matafeo, Morganna O’Reilly and Alexander England, Small Town Scandal premieres on ABC TV and ABC iview later in 2026.

Twenty Twenty Six

Hugh Bonneville returns as Ian Fletcher (W1A, streaming on ABC iview from Wednesday 1 April, and Twenty Twelve, on ABC iview from Monday 1 June), now charged with delivering the world’s largest-ever football tournament across three host nations. With logistics, politics and egos colliding, Fletcher’s trademark optimism is pushed to its limits in this sharp, topical comedy from John Morton. Produced by Expectation, Twenty Twenty Six premieres on ABC TV and ABC iview later in 2026.

New Zealand Spy

The New Zealand Intelligence Agency’s on the hunt for new recruits. When the agency places an ad in the newspaper, only three decidedly unlikely candidates respond. Thrown headfirst into the murky world of espionage, the mismatched trio fumbles its way through betrayal, romance and escalating absurdity. Starring Bret McKenzie, Andy Lee and Paul Williams and produced by Kevin & Co, New Zealand Spy premieres on ABC TV & ABC iview later in 2026.

Watch all of your favourite comedy and entertainment programs on ABC iview.
